Disclaimer: I do NOT own The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
A/N: This is just a short oneshot songfic that just came to me after I was watching some of David Archuleta's performances on YouTube. It's his version of "Angels" (Which was one of my favorites of all his performances!) Anyways, ON TO THE STORY!
Ben was sitting on his bed, contemplating what had just happened. He had just asked Amy to marry him. Was it the right decision? Should he have even asked her? Then he began to think. "Who really decides what happens in my life?" he thought. Is it me? Or is it something bigger than me?
I sit and wait
Does an angel contemplate my fate
And do they know
The places where we go
When we're gray and old
'Cause I've been told
That salvation lets their wings unfold
So when I'm lying in my bed
Thoughts running through my head
And I feel that love is dead
I'm loving' angels instead
Then he thought about Amy. Sweet, kind, beautiful, wonderful Amy. She was perfect. She was sort of his protector. He wasn't ashamed of that. He wasn't sexist, or anything. If a girl was the person that would help him through all of the tough times, so be it.
And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call she won't forsake me
I'm loving' angels instead
He lay on his bed, contemplating all of the times that he was in pain, and how Amy helped him through it. God, there were to many times to count. He looked up at the sky, and silently thanked God that he could be in love. He had never really experienced it before, and now that he had, it was a euphoric feeling he never wanted to go away.
When I'm feeling weak
And my pain walks down a one way street
I look above
And I know I'll always be blessed with love
And as the feeling grows
She breathes flesh to my bones
And when love is dead
I'm loving' angels instead
As he thought about all of these things, he suddenly realized why Amy was so perfect. It's a metaphor, but it described her perfectly.
And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call she won't forsake me
I'm loving' angels instead
Amy was an angel.
