I don't own the swan princess
Once upon a time, there was a king named William who ruled a large and mighty Kingdom said the Narrator.
And yet he was sad, for he was growing old and had no child to inherit the throne said the Narrator.
Then happily a son was born, a Prince said the Narrator.
And he was given the name Odetten said the Narrator.
Since changes to a room in the castle.
Kings and Queens came from all around to offer their gifts to the child said the Narrator.
Among them was the widow Uberta and her young daughter Princess Dereka said the Narrator.
It was then that William and Uberta happened upon the same idea said the Narrator.
Dereka and Odetten would brought together each summer in hopes they would fall in love and join their kingdoms forever said the Narrator.
But unknown to all was another plan said the Narrator.
That of the evil enchanter Rothbarta said the Narrator.
Odetten's birth was of little concern to her, for she was preparing to take William's kingdom by means of the forbidden arts said the Narrator.
On the eve of her assault, William attacked and Rothbarta's power was brought into darkness said the Narrator.
Despite calls for her death the enchantress only banished said the Narrator.
I'm not finished with you yet William, someday i'll get my power back and when I do everything you own, everything you love will be mine said Rothbarta.
Many feared King William too kind, but in time the threat was forgotten and all hopes turned to that not so distant summer when Dereka and Odetten would meet said the Narrator.
Oh, here they come said a man.
Dear Uberta, as lovely as ever said, William.
Oh, a nest said Uberta.
And who might this lovely young lady be? Asks William.
Young Princess Dereka no doubt said, William.

Odetten: she looks conceited
Dereka: what a total bummer
Dereka & Odetten: if I get lucky
I'll get chicken pox
Dereka: so happy you could come
Odetten: so happy to be here:
Dereka & Odetten: how I'd like to run
Odetten: this is not my idea.
Dereka: this isn't my idea.
Dereka & Odetten: of fun
Uberta: the children seem to get along quite nicely
William: we'll join our lands if this arrangement clicks
Uberta: my dear King William, that my point precisely

William: I think we've got a deal
Uberta: Dereka's quite a catch
William: this is my idea

William & Uberta: of a match
William: good heavens, child, don't dawdle
We can't keep Dereka waiting
Odetten: I haven't packed or washed my hair
And father I get seasick
Uberta: they soon will be arriving
Is that respect your showing
Dereka: you make let him kiss my hand again

William: one day Princess Dereka will be his intended

But just can't lose him
Hey, guys wait up said Odetten.
Quick, put on some speed said, Bromley.
Dereka: when picking teams
Bromley: or friends
Dereka: I'd never chosen him
Bromley: you'd think he'd take I hint and learn to read
Odetten: this really isn't fair
Dereka & Bromley: we really couldn't care
Odetten: guys, it's all or none.
Odetten: this is not my idea
Dereka & Bromley: this isn't my idea
All: of fun
Long before they met
Dereka and Odetten
Were destined to be wedded
However, anyone could see
The only point on which
They didn't disagree
Was the very thought of
Summertime was dreaded
Dereka: he tries to talk me into playing dress up
He always flirting with the castle maids
Bromley: I think you really
Sorta like him
fess up
Dereka: I'd him better if he'd lose at cards
Four sevens and a ten said Dereka.
Odetten: I think I've won again
Bromley & Dereka: every time he's won
Odetten: this my idea
Bromley & Dereka: this isn't my idea
All: of fun
We need a royal wedding
I'd love to be invited
At least we'd get a holiday
To rest our plows and axes
Someday these two will marry
Two lands will be united
And with some luck
Their marriage may result in lower taxes
William: What if Odetten doesn't go for the merger
Uberta: urge him
Dereka & Odetten: for as long as I remember
We've been told we'd someday wed
Every June until September
Dereka: all their pushing and annoying hints
Odetten: I've got bruises with their fingerprints
Dereka: I could do much better I am sure
Odetten: she's so immature
Odetten: I see her smiling and
My knees start buckling
I see her inside and my doubts are gone
Dereka: he started out as such an ugly duckling
And somehow suddenly become a swan
Odetten: so happy to be here
Dereka: till now I never knew
Dereka & odetten: it is you I've been dreaming of
Dereka: this is my idea
Odetten: this is my idea
William & Uberta: what a good idea
Such a charming and romantic notion
This is my idea
Such a good idea
What a good idea.
Such a powerful and magic potion
This is exactly my idea of love
Dereka: this is my idea
Odetten: this is my idea
Both: this is my idea of love
Then they kiss.
Arrange the marriage said Dereka.
The crowd cheers.
