He was harshly awoken by rays of blasted sunlight seeping through the window. Damn it, he thought. Forgot to close the shades. He groaned and begrudgingly grabbed for the spare pillow to pull over his eyes since he couldn't- no, wouldn't- be bothered with getting up and shutting the curtains.
He sighed in aggravation when the pillow proved to be more difficult to move than he'd thought. Resigned, he summoned the energy to turn over to face the cursed pillow, away from the sunlight. His eyes drifted open as he rolled over and he spotted a shock of deep red scattered over the linen. A smile tugged at his lips as his eyes traced the profile of this trespasser. They skimmed over her smooth skin, settling on her plump lips.
Hoisting himself onto his forearms, he leaned over and gently brushed his lips against hers. She drew in a contented breath and smiled, opening her eyes to reveal a startling emerald. "Good morning, Mr. Potter," she greeted sleepily.
"Good morning, Mrs. Potter," he replied and both of their grins widened. "How did you sleep?"
"Wonderfully, and I'll tell you, I wouldn't mind being woken like that more often. And yourself?"
"Splendidly. And I'll have you know that I haven't become bored of waking up next to you yet." He shot her a joking smirk and she chuckled.
"Good to hear, since your going to be waking up to this face for a while. At least until I leave you for Sirius."
"Well, until that happens, I'll have to make the most of you while I can," he whispered before bringing his lips to meet hers again.
A/N: Long time, no see, eh? Just a short little drabble inspired by the song "Lovely Day" by Bill Withers. It's my parents' wedding song, and I've always loved it. Just got back to school, so I didn't spend loads of time on it... not much time at all, really... so, let me know what you think! Did you like it? Hate it? Are you back to school yet? I'll have you know: one day in, and I'm already not too psyched about sophomore year, so you could brighten my day by dropping me a line!
Much love, Sadie
