I Don't Want Anymore Goodbyes

Lag Seeing still remembered when his mother was taken from him. He was a child then, only seven years old, when his mother was abducted and taken to the Amberground capital, Akatsuki. Five years later at twelve, Lag was now a Letter Bee, just like his hero, Gauche Suede.

"Gauche..." Lag repeated the name of his beloved friend as tears dipped down his cheeks. Gauche had now lost his heart, and was a marauder. A marauder was paid to steal objects, such as letters. The exact opposite of a Letter Bee. It was thought the marauders were part of the Reverse, an anti-government group hoping to destroy Amberground.

"Lag Seeing...this letter is full...of hear and hope." Gauche's reassuring voice whispered in Lag's ear. "A letter like that, I'd risk for life to deliver. Because that's the job a Letter Bee!"

Gauche had no memory of who he was when he and Lag reunited. He even forgot his little sister, Slyvette. He had no memory of being a Letter Bee.

"Gauche...why?" Lag whispered. His eyes started to water again. How could this have happened? Lag touched the place where Gauche had hit him with his shindan. The pain of his reunion with Gauche was still there.

Lag thought of his mother, who was still missing after five long years. He remembered shouting for her as she was taken away, before getting kicked in the face. As the seven-year old boy had trembled, he remembered what the man had told him. "She...is not your mother anymore."

"Lag..." his mother's sweet voice echoed in his ears. "For as long as live...I will always be...your mother."

"I don't want anymore goodbyes." Lag whispered. His mother was taken from him at the age of seven, and now Gauche had disappeared under the wing of the The Man Who Could Not Become Spirit.

Had Lag's mother lost her heart as well?

Lag suddenly clenched his fist and wiped his tears away.

"I'll find you, Mama. And you, Gauche." Lag vowed. "I'll bring you back, and your heart."
