AN: I have been watching a lot of Angel lately, and decided to do this mini one shot. It is a twilight crossover. I thought this little idea to be interesting as even though there are not a lot of these crossovers most of them and even Moving On, consists on Bella going to L.A. but I wanted the idea of Angel getting time warped or sucked through a portal by the PTB (Powers That Be).
This takes place during New Moon during the cliff scene and after the episode "Tomorrow".
Angel was fuming, and while on the outside calm, he was livid. Livid that Connor could sink him to the bottom of the ocean. He grasped onto the wooden bridge, hoisting himself up with a soft grunt. Before he could really process what was going on, a bright light blinded him along with a slight breeze that blew his jacket. A voice appears but there is no face and Angel listens. "Go. Save her." Angel squinted. While he had a duty to the Powers, he also had things to deal with at home. "I-I can't! I'm sorry." Angel felt guilty, he was torn between saving the innocent and trying to save his own life from falling apart. He knows now a portal awaits him, blocking his path. The Powers understood his turmoil, but they needed Angel through that portal. "Then she will die vampire. Her blood is on your hands." Angel sighed gasping for breath as he made a decision. He ran through the portal ending up in a place he knew was not L.A. He was surrounded by trees and woods. He could faintly hear water near by, a roaring ocean. He looked behind him as the portal closed.
Angel looked around frustrated. They never gave him much information. He headed toward the ocean, the tress opening up nicely. It was a cloudy day, no sun in sight. It was almost evening. He never liked cloudy days, the sun could peek out at any minute. He stepped out tentatively. He wasn't sure what he was looking for or who. He knew that he wanted to get back to L.A. to deal with Connor and see Cordelia. (I do remember that while Angel sinks, Cordelia is being sent upon a higher plane, although I am not sure if Angel knew that at the time.) They finally have gotten to a point where they don't dance around each other no longer and it made Angel smile faintly. He also wanted to see his friends. His family. He looked around and to his left not even a few feet away was a girl. She looked no older than 18 and was pale as snow. He could hear her muttering to herself, but could not quite make out what she was saying. She seemed to be talking to herself. Was this the girl he was meant to save? He looked her over from head to toe, easily seeing she was not being taken care of. "I loved you." She whispered. Angel almost wanted to roll his eyes. Teenagers and their angst.
He looked down piecing together what she was about to do. She wouldn't survive that current and the weather here? She'd die from hypothermia before she could easily hit her head on one of the rocks. He also noticed a splash of red in the water. Angel was getting rather confused. It looked like a woman was down in the water, but this girl looked like she was going to jump. As he made eye contact with a pair of red eyes that he could easily see, he almost couldn't stop the changing of his face. A Cold One. Angel doesn't really like Cole Ones. A vampire like himself finds it hard not to attack when they are near. It's instinctual. Angel realized the woman below was waiting for the girl to jump. "Hey!" He called out. The girl jumped a few feet in the air, swirling around to look at him. She wobbled uneasily. "Woah..woah. Take it easy. Whatever is running through your head, it's not worth it." Angel soothed. He was inching his way to her bit by bit. She looked at him confused. "What? I'm not-oh. I don't want to die." Angel still edged closer. "Then why are you about to jump?" He asked looking at the water below. She girl blushed and ran a shaking hand through her hair. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you." Angel gave a chuckle. "Try me." The girl looked down and backed away from the edge slowly. Angel stopped, he was close enough to grab her if need be. "I-" Her sentence cut off as Angel heard a faint woosh. The girl's eyes got wide as she seemed to look behind him. Angel couldn't stop the change this time as he turned around. A woman with fiery red hair looked at the girl with fury. Rage. What did this human do?
"Victoria.." He heard the girl whisper. Victoria sneered. "Bella..made a ...friend I see." Bella was too focused on Victoria to see Angel's face right before he turned. "Don't hurt him." Bella gasped out. She didn't want anyone hurt because of her. "Why don't you leave the girl alone? Picking on your food?" Angel taunted. Victoria snarled making a run for Bella, but Angel was faster. He pulled her back, throwing her to the ground. Bella looked on shocked. She searched for a rock or something sharp, anything from Victoria hurting the man. She was sure he was not human, but she'd rather die by his hands than hers. Bella found a pointy, flat rock and grasping it with her other hand, she slashed her palm open. Both vampires froze, Angel was faster and knocked Victoria to the ground on her knees. Angel turned around, his fangs elongated, face distorted somewhat, and yellow eyes. He grasped her around the neck and pulled. Her head snapped off quickly and rolled to a stop at Bella's feet. Angel tore her arms and legs apart, totally forgetting about the human in front of him. He dropped her pieces and looked up into who he know knew as Bella. His face morphed back and they stood there for a moment just starting at each other.
"I'm not going to hurt you." Angel stated holding his hands up. Bella backed up slowly. "What are you?" She asked, tripping over her own feet and falling flat on her behind. "A vampire." Angel confessed. He didn't see the point in lying. Her eyes flickered to Victoria's head. "You don't look like her." Angel nodded slowly, gathering the pieces into a pile. "I'm a vampire. She was a Cold One. Another species of vampire." Bella couldn't help but let out a laugh. Was she finally able to ask this one question? Angel on the other hand looked flustered. "I know this is a lot to take in." He stopped as Bella held up her hand. "No. I know about Cold One's and on some level I've always wanted to ask this question. Can I?" She looked at him trying not to laugh. Angel nodded. "Do you sleep in a coffin?Do you show up in a mirror? If I took a picture, would you show up?" Angel snorted. "I sleep in a bed, and no to the other two." Bella nodded, finally calming herself.
"So it's safe to assume that you burn in the sun?" Angel nodded slowly. "Here I have a lighter." Bella stood, walking over to Angel and handing him the lighter. He grasped her hand that she cut, looking it over. "You need to get that cleaned. How'd that happen?" He noticed James's scar. Bella pulled back and told her tale about The Cullens. She told him why she was on the cliff, and the reason behind it. "I see. You do know that they dazzle people right? To show this much over a Cold One is rare if you two were really mates, but if that were true, he could not leave you." Bella let out a defeated sigh. "I've been coming to that conclusion." Angel gave Bella the lighter back instead. "You do it." Bella sparked it a few times and once it was lit, she threw it in the small pile, burning Victoria slowly. They sat away from the fumes. "How come you aren't screaming yet?" He asked amused. Bella gave a small smile. "I'm good with weird." She chuckled. "Thank you. Where are you from exactly...I haven't gotten your name." She whispered. "Angel." He stuck out his hand, and Bella shook it. "I'm from L.A." Bella nodded and looked at him confused. "Then why are you all the way in Washington?" Angel raised his brows. "Washington huh? It's a long story." Bella looked up into the darkening sky. "Well I've got time." She answered. Angel briefly started from the beginning cutting out the confusing bits when she looked confused and lost. He ended it with the betrayal of his son. "Wow. So where is this Cordelia at now?" She sounded amazing. Angel shrugged. "Hopefully with the others." Bella couldn't believe this other world existed.
"So how do you plan to go back?" Bella asked, looking at Angel. Before Angel could speak, a slight breeze broke though once again. The purple and blue portal opened again. "That's my ride." He looked over at Bella who looked to be hiding her emotions. She was sad to see him go, but understood. He helped Bella to her feet and smiled. "Be good out here." Bella laughed nodding. As Angel started to make his way inside the portal, what looked like lightning seemed to strike Bella down. Angel ran back as the smoke cleared and saw that Bella seemed unharmed but knocked out. He knew this was the Powers doing. "What are you doing?" He snapped looking up at the sky. "Take her back with you." Angel shook his head, picking her up. "She does not belong in our world. She has her own." He wasn't sure where she lived exactly either. Angel turned away from the portal. "You need her. She lives through us." Angel stopped, looking into the sky. Thunder clouds were rolling in. It was starting to rain heavily in a matter of seconds. "What about Cordelia? Isn't she your link?" Angel asked. "She has a new destiny Angel." Angel wouldn't believe it. She couldn't be gone from him. "Screw your destiny!" Angel snapped. He held Bella closer knowing it was getting cold. "Please Angel. Do what is right. She belongs in L.A." Angel turned back towards the portal and looked up into the sky. "You owe me." The Powers certainly did and they knew it. Angel held Bella and walked through the portal and back into L.A. His hotel.
He looked around at all the faces, his friends, his family. Except one. She was gone. Lost to him. But he did see Connor. "You." He growled. Connor looked shocked and confused. How did he? Angel brought his attention back to Bella as she groaned slightly. Lorne moved forward to grab her but Angel shook his head. "I've got it." He looked to Connor with sadness and anger. "Get out." He whispered. Fred gasped and Gunn raised his brows. "Angel.." Wesley stated trying to figure out what was going on. "No. Get out. You tried to kill me. Who knows? You'll try to kill Wesley or even Fred next. Get. Out." Angel would never be able to kill his son, but he wouldn't look at him right now either. Angel turned, still with a wet Bella in his arms. "Fred, bring some towels and a pair of Cordelia's clothes. Thank you." Fred scurried off and Angel made his way to his room. His head was trying to process everything. One step at a time though. As Fred brought in what he needed, and asked her to stay. He didn't want to undress Bella or have her wake up and in a compromising position. "Who is she?" Fred asked as she started drying her off. "A girl. I saved her from a vampire, different from the one's we know. Um..the Powers sent me to save her. She's our new link." Angel said, looking away as Fred started removing Bella's jeans. "She's gone Angel." Fred sniffed. Angel nodded. "I know." Fred dried off Bella's face. "If she's the new link to the Powers that Be, will she have visions? Would she even be able to handle it?" Angel turned around again. "I don't know exactly. I hope not. Cordelia could barely handle them and its been years. We'll have to see." Once Bella was dressed, Angel picked her up once more taking her into a room not too far from his own. He laid her in the bed and stood there for a moment. He turned around and walked out of the room. He had to deal with two losses and a gain. He wasn't sure what to do with it now.
End.
AN: Sooo this can be a one shot or go on, I'm not sure. IT's not the way I planned it to go, but it turned out pretty good. Bella isn't necessarily replacing Cordelia, just in the PTB's eyes. Now if this could be continued, I am not sure if Bella would end up with Angel or Connor. Or no one. I am unsure, but that is only if I plan to have it continued. Now I still have all other stories on hold as I work on Guiding the Saviors. Comment what you think I should do and your ideas. Read and Review. Thank you.
