Gone.

He left. He's gone.

He left without saying good-bye, without even looking back I bet. That good for nothing emo (I shall call him emo now) bird boy!

"Max, you need to calm down."

"How can I? He just left! Poof! With this stupid note!" I waved the note in his face. "Without a good-bye to anyone! Just left without a trace!" I snapped, throwing the note on the couch. "Good for nothing-"

"Yes, Maxie, we know. You've been calling Fang emo all day and I have to say, I agree with you."

It felt rather comforting to know that someone still agreed with me.

"And he said that he left to protect me! Me, of all people, me! The great Maximum Ride! I may not be able to cook or dance, or kill someone who's not threatening our flock, or-"

"Please, for the sake of my ears, I need them to work, thank you, get to the point."

Well, he cares enough to listen to me. Sort of.

"Well, I don't need protecting! I saved him at the beach when Ari's attacked him, I always had his back and he needs to protect me! Oh no, it's the other way around." I ranted angrily, storming around the room.

"And what does he say at the end? Oh, I'm sorry I left, but I'll see you in twenty years. Twenty freaking years! No, he'll be alone on that cliff if he's even alive..." I trailed off, looking up.

"Max, you can't kill Fang just because he left."

He does have good reasoning. But revenge is fun.. Maybe I can get him in some other time.

"Well, at least I have a reason to! And who knows, our expiration dates could kick in sometime tomorrow for all we know. Heck, we could be dead by next month!"

"Don't think like that. It'll be fine, Maxie. It's not hopeless."

"I'll have hope that he'll come back when I learn how to cook." I said sourly.

"I can teach you."

"And the worst thing is.. he left us all. Iggy, he left me."

All of the tears I had bottled up during my rant were threatening to spill up. Iggy could apparently tell as he held out his arms. Hesitantly, I walked over and put my head on his shoulder, hugging him softly.

"I miss him." I choked. I hadn't cried since he left, he wasn't worth my tears.

"It's going to be alright, Maxie." Iggy soothed, stroking my hair and letting me soak up his t-shirt. "I miss him too."

The one thought going through Iggy's mind: He. Is. Dead.

A/N: Max/Iggy is really cute. Except no one writes that around here anymore. Bringing back the fluff! And now, that Fang's gone, I have so many possibilities for my drabbles! Muahahaha!
