Summary: Agent Coulson is told to rebuild SHIELD from the ashes. One-shot

Characters: Phil Coulson, Melinda May, Agent Triplett

Notes: Feel free to review and make any correction I have made. This is more of drabble, it symbolizes the hope that the characters had at the end of the season. Just to I clearly don't own any Marvel or anything related to Agents of Shield. ENJOY!

Agent Coulson is now Director Coulson named by his predecessor, Nick Fury. Rebuilding the shamed government facility is now up to Director Phil Coulson. Where to start... Coulson asks himself. There is everywhere to start.

"Why don't we start by making sure all of Hydra is gone from our system and start fresh, like sucking poison from a wound," answers Triplett leaning against the doorway of Phil's office. I guess I said that last part out loud.

"Yea. We should do that. We need to figure out how to rebuild everything and make sure we there would be no glitches or way any enemy force could infiltrate our system." Coulson stands and walks to where his Captain America trading cards lay.

"There is no way that we can perfectly protect our systems, Phil, even you know that," states Agent May standing near Phil's desk.

Coulson turns swiftly and sets the trading cards down exclaiming, "We have to try! We have to everything in our power to never let this happen again!"

"We will do everything in our power to prevent that from happening," Triplett replies for both he and May. Triplett walks in and sits on the sofa. "We have an amazing team here. We have Skye on tech, she is easily one of the best out there. We also have Fitzsimmons who always know what to do, and they keep finding ways to keep us safer on the field. May and I are here to make sure that the job gets done and to keep everyone else physically safe. Director Coulson, you are our leader; You know how to lead we don't know how to do that. You already survived having to start over. You can do it again."

Coulson pondered this for a moment. "We will have to get others to join us or at least be in an alliance."

May quickly replied from her position, "We will handle that as it comes, we need to get things in check and make sure we have the ability to become strong without any wounds."

We must rise from the ashes of our shame and become stronger. That is the only way SHIELD can and will live on.
