"Crud, another port that needs plugging..." Cyan shook his head and tacked away on his keyboard. Being the head of information security of the castle wasn't an easy task. Sure, he got to see the blonde Caninu of his dreams, Princess Terria, everyday, and he was doing a huge service to the kingdom of Prairie, his beautiful home. However, the number of Sky Hackers trying to access the royal family's files was become more and more intense over the past few months. Those files contained every secret and piece of private information the royal family has been amassing for years. In turn, this was placing a ton of strain on Cyan-an attempted attack here, a plugged opening there. The cycle kept repeating.
"Whoever says that ShepherdOS is a great operating system deserves to be whacked upside the head..." Cyan grunted and started a digital recorder on the computer.
"Note to self: set up a 30 gigabyte partition during spare time in order to test out version 10.3 of PrairieOS. Hopefully, it'll have much less RAM and CPU usage than ShepherdOS." He stopped the recording and took a sip of his iced coffee. He was wearing, black dress shoes, tan slacks, a tie, and a collared button-up shirt colored to match his hair. Suddenly, there was a knock at his office door.
"Come in," Cyan replied, not taking his eyes off the screen. The door cracked open and in walked the ever-so beautiful Princess Terria.
"Hi Cyan," she greeted with a warm voice and a smile to match. Cyan swiveled around in his chair. She was wearing a sky-blue business-casual dress with black high-heels and her trademark crown.
"Princess! I'm so sorry, I had no idea it was you," Cyan began shuffling stuff around on his desk. "I apologize about the mess. I haven't had time to clean up in a while...it's just been an onslaught of attack after attack and-"
"Cyan, Cyan, it's okay," Terria interrupted softly and reassured him. There's was no way Cyan could resist that charm of hers. Terria slowly approached him
"I just got a call from Waffle and he heard about you being swamped with work. Since he's an information security specialist in-training, he's decided to come here and help you." Cyan rubbed his chin.
"Well...I heard about his remarkable test scores at the Prairie I.S. Academy, and I could definitely use an extra hand."
"Great! I'll let him know! And Cyan, thank you for all the hard work." She leaned up to his face and planted a soft kiss on his cheek before stepping out of the office with a giggle. Cyan stood there stunned. She had never kissed him before.
"Does she know about my feelings for her?" He thought to himself as he slumped into his chair.
-MEANWHILE-
The only light that pierced the dark, smoky room was the faint glow of the low-contrast computer screen. The shadowy figure at the helm of the terminal took a long drag of his Pharaoh Choice cigars, gently puffing the noxious fumes into the air. The terminal had a chat box open on some sort of underground connection.
"B: You have the explosives?" The figure began typing back.
"F: Yup. 1 ton of cat bombs just like you specified."
"B: Excellent. The money's been transferred to your wallet."
"F: Glad I could be of service." The figure closed the chat with the tap of a key. He took another slow, joyous drag off his cigar, blowing it at the screen this time. He stood up and swished his tail, grabbing a bottle of fine whiskey and taking a sip.
"Who would've known all this black market arms dealing could be so profitable." The Felineko known as Fool snickered with another sip of his whiskey. He wore a fine purple suit to match his purple fur.
"Now..." he pulled up multiple hacking utilities. "Maybe I can take another crack at knocking down this Cyan kid's security grid." The stogie rolled to the other side of his mouth as he began typing up complex lines of code.
