This is my first time posting I figured I had better say that, also I am not an experienced writer nor do I have the best grades in English. This story is made up of ideas from Mass Effect, Resident Evil, Babylon 5, and some other stories I can't think of right now(it is set in the Mass effect universe though). So if something seems familiar that's why. I don't think I will do anything with this but here it is anyway.

Another one... another world... which to all surface scans seems a perfectly habitable world but the horrors on the surface that tore two combat companies of Turain's to pieces spoke differently. This made four worlds that had seemed perfectly habitable but were infested with some kind of non-native pathogen that turned all native life into highly aggressive creatures, the Council scientists were still working on what it was, but what was more interesting was that something had survived on these worlds, at least at one time, there were huge castles, seven in total spread over four worlds, these huge stone structures had battlements, large steel gates and trenches out front, but what was more peculiar was that these castles were built with heavy projectile weapons in mind there, were emplacements for cannons, machine gun nests, missile silos, and landmines. The castles seemed to be designed for fending off hordes of hostile melee. And General Desolasw Arterius did not want to meet whoever had built these structures, because whoever had could survive what had killed two of his companies... at least for a time.

Unfortunately for the general, Frontier Baron Atticus Rhal wanted to know who had broken the boundaries of his rightful area of exploration.

The Baron was a greatly respected and feared man for good reasons, he was good to his people keeping his roaming fleet rich and pushing them hard but not too hard, it was a delicate balance that Atticus had perfected in his 200 years of rule, and it won him great respect and love of his people. Alternatively, his fellow Barons hated him for his connections to the Empress and his ability protect his borders. Except for today, whoever stole their way into his domain had been tricky, they had slipped around the edge of his territory and come from the unexplored regions, a dangerous proposition, but one that could pay off if they found some Rahl's richer worlds to raid. Atticus had first been alerted to the intruders presence when a patrol ship had stopped on a world Rahl Industries had already marked and built mines on and found that area of twelve square kilometers had been obliterated from orbit. When Atticus heard he brought his fleet of twelve thousand to the center of his inhabited territory and deployed scout frigates to all of his most valuable worlds and known hyperspace lanes, now it was a waiting game.
