A/N: Castle's not mine. I have always loved the song "Baby, It's Cold Outside," and I think that Caskett would totally have a situation where Rick wanted Christmas sexytimes, but Kate needed to get to work before Gates killed her. Thus, this little one-shot happened. BTW, I will have this song stuck in my head forever, having listened to it about 10 times during the course of writing this. - Immac
Beckett finished off her glass of sparkling cider before looking at Castle. He had a mischievous look on his face, one that would normally send her hormones into a tizzy, but was now just making her feel bad. She didn't like not being able to stay the night after date night, but it was late and she needed to get back to work. If she could have gotten Ryan or Esposito to cover for her, she would have in a heartbeat, but between Jenny and Ryan's newborn, Adam, and Esposito trying to woo the hard-to-impress-on-Christmas Lanie, Beckett was stuck alone for the night.
"I really can't stay, you know," she informed him with a smile.
"Beckett, it's cold outside," he replied. "You'll be out there forever just trying to find a cab."
"I have to go, Castle," she grinned. "I had a lot of fun tonight, but I have work."
"You just got here, though!" he whined, scooting closer to her on the couch. "What's the hurry, anyways? All you have waiting for you is paperwork and Gates complaining about her mother-in-law. Here, you have great food, a warm fireplace, the coolest decorations known to man, and, you know, me."
"Castle," Kate smirked, rolling her eyes, "it's late."
"I have awesome music, too," he bragged. "You can put on whatever you like while I pour us some drinks."
"Your mother and Alexis will be home soon, won't they? We can't."
"You know it's going to be terrible," Rick said, pulling her body closer to his, his breath hot on her ear. "You should just stay."
He pressed his lips against her neck, making her shiver as he nibbled her flesh. She grabbed his face and kissed it lightly, then stroked his cheek and grinned.
"I have to go," she said firmly.
"Your eyes are gorgeous," he said, changing the subject and nudging himself closer towards her, pressing his open mouth against hers. "And your hair," he added between breaths as his hands ran through the brown locks.
"The answer's no, Castle. I'm not staying for sex. Gates will kill me," she broke away.
"You see that storm," he pointed at the window. When she turned, he pounced on her again, kissing her collar bone. "Besides, you taste like cherries. It's… delicious… Come on, Kate, just one more drink. You would freeze out there."
"Are you really that worried about me being caught in a storm?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. He shrugged, not moving his head off of her skin as he kissed her. "Just let me borrow your jacket then."
She got no response.
"You just want sex, don't you?"
"I'm very concerned about your well being," he said, faking affront as he pulled himself off of her. "If you caught pneumonia and died… well, it'd be very anti-climactic for someone like you, wouldn't it?"
"Castle, I already told you!" she sighed in frustration.
"Please…" he said, looking into her eyes with pure lust. "Just one hour. For me."
She knew that if she dared try to think of a counter argument, it wouldn't work at all and he'd just insist she stay until the weather cleared up. Kate decided it would just end with her staying regardless, so, instead of answering, she began unbuttoning her blouse and scooting him back so she could lay over his body.
"Fine. But only because it's cold outside," she whispered.
