A/N: First work for this fandom. Haven't read the books in a while, forgive me if I've made a mistake. I tried to be a little vague with details. Review please.
She has the loveliest eyes tonight. She blinks up at the stars, never glancing away. All of her attention is focused in the night sky.
He can name every single one of the constellations up there, of course he can.
Can't he always? He is Artemis Fowl Jr., boy genius. Confident and perfect.
He knows and understands most everything in the universe.
He outsmarted fairies and dwarves and pixies, oh my.
But now he's sitting here under the stars with Holly, and
He
Just
Loves
Her.
Pale fingers, long and nimble, brush her hip
She turns to look at him
"What? Do you see the target? Honestly stake out missions are the worst."
Her irritated voice brings some of himself back.
"Mm, yes. Should we try and ask for some help?"
She changed him. Help was an alien concept to him before.
"No! We can do this, Mud-boy. We don't need help."
He doesn't need help. But sometimes she does. And he has to be the one to remind her of it.
Or perhaps it's the other way around.
Never mind.
He would name every constellation in the sky if it held her attention like the stars did tonight.
"Artemis?"
He looks up to see her concern.
"Yes?"
"Are you okay?"
No. I'm feeling lost, and mad (about you), and I just want to tuck that little wisp of hair behind your ear and hold you.
"Of course, Holly. I always am."
