Quinn's sophomore year was difficult to say the least. She feels lucky each and everyday to have survived it. She knows that a great deal of her strength comes from the one friend she had throughout her pregnancy, her best friend who became her girlfriend. Rachel was and is her rock and after Beth was born Rachel was willing to spend nights at Quinn's holding her helping her sleep. Even when Quinn told her she gave Beth to Shelby Rachel forgave her instantly telling her Quinn and her fathers were more important than the mother she never had.
Quinn thanked her girlfriend often, but still didn't feel Rachel realized how
appreciative she was so once school started again she decided to show Rachel in a way she knows the petite diva will like. For three days she searched for the perfect song to sing until her mom, who she had got closer to after she moved back in, suggested they watch a movie. Judy had rented "the Last Song" and Quinn couldn't help picturing her and Rachel as Will and Ronnie. When the movie ended and a song that Quinn had heard only once before started to play she realized how perfectly the lyrics fit to how she felt.
Over the next week Quinn practiced until she knew for sure she could sing it perfectly. On the first day of Glee after she had perfected her voice she stood in front of her friends and girlfriend feeling nervous.
"As you know I had a bit of tough year last year. I honestly don't think I would have been able to make it through if it hadn't been for my wonderful, amazing girlfriend." She saw Rachel smile widely, Santana roll her eyes and Finn's eyes glaze over. "So I wanted to thank her by singing her a song that I think explains how much she helped me." The music started and I felt my nerves dissipate as I looked at Rachel sining the lyrics from my heart.
Everybody needs inspiration, Yeah when my world is falling apart. When I look at you, Yeah when my world is falling apart, You, appear just like a dream to me. Yeah When the waves are flooding the shore, You, appear just like a dream to me.
Everbody needs a song.
A beautiful melody,
When the night's so long.
Cause there is no guarantee,
That this life is easy.
When there's no light to break up the dark,
That's when I, I, I look at you.
When the waves are flooding the shore,
and I can't find my way home anymore.
That's when I, I, I look at you.
I see forgiveness,
I see the truth.
You love me for who I am,
Like the stars hold the moon,
Right there where they belong.
and I know im not alone.
When there's no light to break up the dark,
That's when I, I, I look at you.
When the waves are flooding the shore,
and I can't find my way home anymore,
That's when I, I, I look at you.
Just like kaleidoscope colors,
That cover me,
All I need,
Every breath that I breathe,
Don't you know you're beautiful!
and I can't find my way home anymore,
That's when I, I, I look at you.
I look at you, Yeah, Woah.
I noticed the tears falling from Rachel's eyes and felt my own eyes water. I sat down next to her on the top row and looked to her for approval only to be met with a needy kiss.
"I love you so much." I heard against my lips.
"I love you too." I said back knowing Rachel now understood my appreciation for her.
