Time seemed to freeze, and Beck was beating himself up inside 'WHY THE HELL DID I SAY THAT?' he thought angrily.
"Jade, wait." he said, getting her to stop in her tracks before reaching the steps. "Look, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that."
"Then why did you?" she asked, turning to face him
"I don't know, I thought it was the best thing to do."
"Well, it wasn't."
"I know. All I really want is for you to be a little nicer to me and Tori."
"I'm nice to you!"
"I know, but you could be a little nicer, and you aren't nice to Tori. Will you please at least try?"
She thought it over, and smiling, said "Well it'll be hard for Vega, but I'll do it for you."
