Alternate Ending
The spell breaks like water shattering into a million droplets.
``Morveren! Morveren!´´
It's not Malin calling me now. It's my sister.
``Morveren, I need you! Help me!´´
I whirl round but all I see is a confusion of bubbles.
``Jenna, where are you?´´
I can't even tell where her voice is coming from. I look wildly one way and then the other. Malin is still holding my hand, even though I pulled mine away when I turned to find Jenna.
``Malin, listen! It's my sister, it's Jenna. She needs us.´´
``She needs no one.´´ says Malin.
``Can't you hear her?´´
``I can. But know you can't go back.´´ says Malin.
``Why not? I'm not yet in Ingo.´´
``Morveren, listen. You are the water, Jenna is the Air. You've been different since you were born. Understand that. You belong with your own kind, the Mer.´´ says Malin.
I felt confused, I didn't know how to think anymore.
``You are a Mer girl, like I am a Mer boy. We belong together Morveren.´´ says Malin. ``I am here with you. I am closer to you than your sister, and we are of the same blond and spirit.´´
``But Malin, she's my twin.´´
``You are a Mer like I am Morveren. You and I belong together.´´ says Malin.
As I drowned into my thoughts, Malin took my other hand too and pulled me deeper into the sea, with him. I realized it too late, I couldn't hear Jenna's voice anymore.
``Come Morveren. We will be together forever. For Digory will be cared.´´ says Malin.
I don't know if I have to believe him. But I know it's too late to turn back to the Air, I belong with the Water. Ever since I was born.
``I love you Morveren, but, do you love me?´´ asks Malin.
``I do Malin, I do.´´
I swum away with Malin, towards Ingo, to live there forever and see how the Humans destroyed each other.
Happily, I had Digory with me, my little brother. He was really happy in Ingo.
But the most I wanted was Malin, Jenna, my parents and Digory, all of us. But it had to happen that it couldn't, my parents and Jenna were 100 per cent human while Digory and I were a part Mer.
One day I swum to the beach, I saw Jenna hand in hand with Bran Helyer.
I smiled, just because I knew they would end up together, it had been written in the Air since they met, although I knew that Bran's father wouldn't really approve Bran's relationship with Jenna.
But I was happy with Malin, we also had a relationship, and that made me happy.
That same day, Digory wanted to know if Jenna and Bran were together, so I did tell him the truth.
Digory was happy for Jenna, just as I.
