Sonic was zooming through a special zone, when he came across the purple emerald.
"The last emerald!" Sonic exclaimed. But right before he could grab the jewel, a floating machine swiped it away.
"Egg-man!" Sonic yelled.
"At last, the Chaos Emeralds are mine!" Egg-man chuckled.
"But I have the other six!" Sonic replied to Egg-man's statement.
"I know, FIRE!!!!" Egg-man yelled as a giant laser flew from his ship, the Egg-mobile.
"Ack!" Sonic screamed as the laser hit him dead on.
"All seven Chaos Emeralds are mine, all mine!" Egg-man said as he flew away. Suddenly, Knuckles came and noticed Sonic on the ground.
"What happened?" Knuckles asked as he helped Sonic up. Sonic explained that Egg-man took the emeralds.
"YOU LOST THE EMERALDS TO EGG-MAN!!!" Knuckles yelled at the top of his lungs.
"Sorry!" Sonic said in a small voice compared to Knuckles's.
While Sonic was moping about in Station Square, he noticed a sign that read, "Tournament today, first prize: seven Chaos Emeralds." All of a sudden, Amy started sprinting toward Sonic.
"SONIC!!!" Amy yelled.
"Shoot, it's Amy!" Sonic mumbled to himself.
"There you are Sonic!" Amy said as she stopped in front of Sonic.
"Uh, h-hi, A-Amy" Sonic stammered. Amy told Sonic that herself and a few others were entering the tournament.
"So, their in the tournament, too?" Sonic asked.
"Sure are!" Amy exclaimed with a hint of excitement in her voice.
"This will be good!" Sonic said, leaving the lobby.
