Diana was not having a good morning. It was times like these she wished the Justice League hadn't faded from existence. Superman may have been near impossible to kill, but that didn't stop him from dying from old age. The other members had either died in battles or fallen prey to time just like Superman had…
Well almost all of them had.
She was immortal.
And so was her husband.
The same husband who had failed to answer her last seventeen calls.
And so that was how Diana found herself heading towards San Francisco with a monster of legend on her tail, as she tried to track down her husband. She could not kill this beast alone. It had already destroyed entire cities, so she deemed leading it to San Francisco where she and her husband would be able to kill it was worth the risk of another city being destroyed… Because if she did not, the beast would destroy countless other cities.
But she wouldn't be having this problem if her husband had just answered her calls!
San Francisco wouldn't be in danger, if he had just answered her calls or at least phoned her back! Well to be fair they hadn't spoken to each other in almost a hundred years now… Her husband had been called away to fight in an intergalactic war. And even though he was immortal, he had still found a way to almost get himself killed and then failed to mention it to her.
She'd only found out when one of his alien colleagues had shown up at their private villa on a hidden Greek island and informed her of what had happened. She'd be very annoyed and when her husband had finally returned to Earth once he'd healed and the war had been won, he had wisely steered clear of her.
But he wasn't as stupid as he appeared because every couple of years or so, she'd revive a letter from him and a gift in ways of apology. She was just waiting for him to pluck up the courage and apologise to her in person. Was he really that scared of her anger? Well then maybe next time he'd actually inform her when he was going off to fight intergalactic wars rather than leaving her to guard Earth alone and to worry when she couldn't find him.
She'd had enough of that from the time before she had made him an immortal like her.
When she had first meet the reincarnation of Steve Trevor, it had been close to a hundred years after his death and then he had been injured while defending Earth as a Green Lantern. He'd been dying and she couldn't lose him again… So she had climbed to the top of Mount Olympus and found the tree with Golden Apples and battled the hydra which guarded it.
One Golden Apple later and her now husband, the once Steve Trevor, was as immortal as her.
She slowed as she reached the outskirts of the city. She studied the screen in front of her. The beast was many miles away, but it'd be upon the city in less than an hour. An as she guided her plane into landing she couldn't help but feel even more annoyed at her husband. But at the same time it'd been too long since they had last seen each other.
As soon as this was over and she and her husband had destroyed the beast, she was dragging her husband back to their private villa and they wouldn't be leaving the bedroom for a while…
But she had to find him first.
She quickly exited her jet and headed towards the city, a bag thrown over
one shoulder and her battle gear hidden under her clothes.
Her destination: Starfleet Head Quarters.
