Just a little something to hold my followers over until I can work on my other stories. Enjoy.

Maura was disappointed. She was disappointed because their date night was being ruined by a group of twenty-somethings at the resturant. They sat at the bar across from Jane and her, making vulgar remarks and cat calling. To say the detective was pissed would have been an understatement.

All Maura wanted was to enjoy a night off with her girlfriend. Work had become hectic with the close of the summer. They had a triple homicide with very little leads and a deadline. The victims were high profile defense lawyers in Boston. The number of people that wanted these men dead was never ending and it was up to the homicide division and Maura to find the killer(s). It seemed their night was going to be cut short by the dark haired woman standing next to her waiting for a table. You could see the red in her eyes and the steam blowing out of her ears.

Maura wrapped a soft hard around a scarred one.

"Leave them be, dear." She told her. She leaned over and kissed her girlfriend's cheek.

"But, Maura-"

"Hey, sweet thing, why don't you come over and meet some real men?" One of them yelled. It seemed that Jane has reached her last straw. She stood up so quickly that Maura didn't notice until Jane's hands wrapped around the collar of the offending man and slammed him into the bar.

"You got something to say, wise guy?"

"I just thought your woman would want to know what I real man was like, not some butch dyke." The sound of Jane's fist hitting his face echoed across the now silent room. Every eye in the room was on the scene that looked like it was about to get out of hand. The man dropped to the floor, clutching his jaw.

"Fucking dykes." Jane pushed the side of her blazer to the side and revealed a shiny gold badge and black gun.

"Why don't you say it to my face, asshole?" She glared at him as the manager came to the rescue.

"Gentlemen, I'm going to have to ask you to leave. We will not accept such behavior in our establishment." Said the gray haired man.

Maura didn't notice the waiter walking up behind her with two menus as the room erupted in applause as the men were escoted out, tails between their legs.

"Your girlfriend sure is something else." Said the young man. Maura turned to him and smiled smugly.

"Yeah, she's my pure Boston beauty."
