Bandaged Innocence

A/N: In this story Sam is about 3 or 4 and Dean is around 7 or 8. I thought it was about time I got John in on the drabble fun.

Blinking slowly, Sammy smiled up at Dean's sleeping face. Quickly sliding off the bed, he pulled Brownie close.

"Shhh, Dean's sleepin'."

Soon, deep snores could be heard and he smiled. Daddy's home! Racing towards the sound, he stopped short letting his bear fall from numb fingers.

"Daddy?"

Layers of white wrapped around chest and head, Sammy stared at the bruised stranger.

"Sam!" Dean whispered. "It's okay. Daddy's okay."

"…Hurt?"

"Yeah… but he's fine. Come on, let's go eat."

Nodding stiffly Sammy started towards the kitchen then turned. Picking up Brownie, he stared for a moment before heading after his brother.
