Salvation

Prologue

Death was always inevitable. It was the one thing that you couldn't cheat, that you could come so close to that it was lucky if you survived whatever situation you found yourself in, and there was never a way out once the hands of death enveloped you.

The duration of life on earth was and would always be different. Some were lucky enough to go through their whole life without illness and be able to take their last breath surrounded by their children, grandchildren and often great grandchildren. Some, however, were taken before they were given the chance to talk, walk or even feel the sun on their face.

Life was never fair. It was the most beautiful thing a human being could have but it was also the cruellest thing a human being could have.

And often, in the most darkest of days where life seemed almost impossible, a bright strobe of light would appear and allow those who needed saving to cling to the last string of hope, their salvation. But with the dead now walking across the surface of the world, death came a lot quicker for some whereas for others, it was the chance to take control of their lives and find a way out.

And despite the morbid situation that many found themselves living in, it was the opportunity to find life when death threatened to smother their only chance at survival.
