Abracadabra

Dora breathed out an annoyed sigh while sniffling right afterwards. She rolled over onto her side, pulling a box of tissues towards her. Next, she ripped one out and blew her nose with it, tears pouring out of her large eyes. The girl shook for a moment, sneezing loudly. When her sneeze was through, a cough came and took its place.

Dora the Explorer was sick!

It happened yesterday evening. Dora had been on another adventure with her best friend, Boots, when she started to feel 'funny'. Sneezing and coughing occurred, as well as nausea. Dora also had felt extremely weak.

Now here she was.

Bedridden.

Sighing loudly, Dora pushed the blankets off of her, sitting upright. She didn't know what happened to Boots and had no idea of what to do.

She was sad.

Suddenly, the door to her room opened and in came her best friend, Boots. He was grinning widely and holding a box with something unidentifiable inside. Dora just watched him silently, not knowing what he wanted.

"Boots…" Dora trailed, sneezing.

"Hi, Dora!" Boots chirped cheerily, sitting down next to her on the bed and setting the box of mysteries down in front of them. He got comfortable and then his grin got bigger. "Feeling any better than yesterday?" He questioned her.

Dora shook her head. "No."

"That's too bad." Boots's face fell.

Dora replied with a harsh cough.

Boots smiled brightly all of a sudden and pointed at the box he brought. "I have something that might make you feel better!" He sang.

Dora perked up instantly. "What is it?"

"It's magic." Boots answered simply.

"Magic?" Dora deflated a bit, unbelieving.

"Yup!" Boots responded, pulling the box onto his lap with a giant smile painting his features. "This magic will help you feel better!"

"I thought you said that it 'might' make me feel better?" Dora asked, frowning.

Boots ignored her query and opened the box, pulling out a wand. He waved it around for a few minutes before tapping it onto Dora's head. "Abra!" He announced.

Dora sneezed.

"Feel any better?" Boots wondered.

"No…"

Boots tapped the wand on Dora's head again. "Cadabra!"

Dora coughed.

"Anything?" Boots voiced his question, curiosity tainting his tone.

"Nope…"

Boots repeated the action with the wand again, hope shining within his eyes. "Abracadabra!" He yelled out, voice echoing throughout the room.

Dora's eyes widened and she almost gasped. A happy sensation blasted through her body and she no longer felt sick and helpless. She felt great!

"Do you feel better now?" Boots wanted to know.

"Yes!" Dora exclaimed, grinning. "Thanks, Boots!"

Boots laughed. "You're welcome!"
