Reminiscent

Yūsei still thought of that meeting often. He was glad that they were able to meet. The time was short but sweet. It was the first of their meetings. He often thought of it as the best. The sheer surprise of seeing him again was enough of a reason. He didn't even think such a feat was possible. However, that presented a dilemma; should he be pleased or not?

There were many different factors that could have been involved. He couldn't look at it in a purely scientific way. The Crimson Dragon and the King of the Netherworld were proof enough that everything couldn't be broken down into formulae. Their irrefutable part in his death changed the circumstances of what happened next, he was sure.

Perhaps it was something that he would never know. There was no one else who voiced their encounter with the dead. The circumstances were always a part of his thoughts whenever he thought of him. He wanted to believe it was simply death but that seemed unlikely. He would wonder, at times, whether he knew suffering in that strange place.

They had met on a few occasions. There was always something happening. However, he could not shake the feeling that something had changed. It had always felt different. Each meeting was seemingly separate and yet intrinsically linked.

His adventures couldn't last forever. He wouldn't be duelling for the sake of the world for the entirety of his life. He knew his friends wouldn't do that either. It left him wondering when the final adventure would come. He didn't want the encounters to end.

They would, he knew, someday. That truth seemed to hang over their heads whenever they met. It was a harsh truth. However, as with all truths, it couldn't be escaped.

Author's Note: For these I knew that this would also be included. The first fanfiction that I have ever posted was similar to this. That fanfiction, Sorry Aftermath, involved Yūsei thinking of his father. I couldn't do this without having a tribute to that. I'm glad that I could do this. I hope that you enjoy my story. Thank you for sparing your time to read my work. I will always work to improve so please accept my apologies if you were unsatisfied.
