Still working on that writers block for Slight Miscalculation. Just trying a couple different things to get my mojo back. I'm thinking about either doing a NCIS or a Ninjago story to get my inspiration back. I'll write them both at the same time. Promise.
This is from Jay's P.O.V.
We thought we could rebuild him. The inventor in me calculated it to be easy, that a copy of the designs would produce a second Zane. I had never thought about all the memories, all the events that had moulded his personality. Every one of his traits, from his over detailed way of talking to his mad cooking skills, they weren't programmed into his hard drive.
They were Zane.
That's why he is Zak.
It didn't seem right to name the copy Zane anyway. Zane was gone. Well, not gone, just trapped in the digiverse. But that's as good as gone, we didn't know when, or if, we could get him back. That's where Zak came in. He looked like Zane, he acted like Zane, but he wasn't Zane. He can't cook, he has even less of a sense of humour than Zane did, and he holds no compassion at all. He doesn't even have a crush on P.I.X.E.L. That's not Zane.
Zak is not Zane
We tried to teach him how to be like him, but soon gave up. Suddenly I realised how Cole must of felt, being forced to be a dancer when he needed to find himself. Zak wasn't Zane, and deserved to find himself.
We let him redesign himself, make him how he wanted to look. Apparently Zak wanted to dawn blonde hair, and found orange to be his favourite colour. Then, we let him go. I think he found work in a factory or something in Ninjago City.
Ironic.
We were left even emptier than when we had first lost our brother. No longer were we the five ninjas (plus my samurai girlfriend), it was as if a piece was missing. Zane can't be replaced.
We know that now.
Now I think that when the new series comes out, they'll bring back Zane, otherwise they'll get in a ginormous s***storm with fans like you and me. But here's a little fanfic just describing how much the team miss him.
Long live Zane.
