There She Lies

Summary: She never thought that he would do this to her. He was someone she trusted with her life.

A/N: Just a small drabble as if to keep myself busy. Updates will be coming soon to selected stories.

There she lies, up against a decrepit wall that has been weakened by old age. She could feel his presence nearing. She could still feel the blood dripping from beneath her fingernails while she clawed for her salvation from him, but it was to late for her and the others she found dead around her. It was in that instinct that she could hear him breathing down her neck as the frigid blade severed her brittle spine. She fell back into his arms and they both fell to the ground.

She looked up into his darkened eyes and wondered what she did that was so wrong? What did she do to him for him to do this to her? Her own brother had stuck a knife in her back and what was the reason? Was it jealousy? Was it hatred? She didn't know. She didn't think that he was capable of something like this.

" Jeremy?" She gasped out, blood rushing from her mouth.

" Elena."

" W...why?" She questioned, the light leaving her eyes slowly.

" Because my dear sweet Elena. If my frigid heart couldn't have you, I just couldn't let those brothers have you now could I. I just couldn't stand to lose you to... to one of those things. They are not men Elena, they are monsters."

" Wh... what are y...you..." She started to say, her voice trembling with each syllable that came forth from her mouth.

" I'm trying to say that I love you Elena. I love you so much that I couldn't bare to see you with either of them again and that I am sorry."

" Jer..."

" Yes, Elena. "

" Go to hell!" She gasped out using up the last of her breath. Blood flooded her throat and dribbled past her pale colorless lips. Her body grew limp in his arms. Eyes still open, not blinking. He had just killed his sister. The girl that he loved. He really did it...

" Elena? No, please, Elena!"

He spent hours holding onto her till his limbs fell cold and numb, but he had to let her go. He had to leave her there. He promised himself that he would. And there he left her, up against a decrepit wall that had been weakened by old age.

The rain poured down on him as he ran down the dark abandoned alleyways. He could hear someone following him, feet dropping on the ground with each step it made in the chase of him. Eventually he ran back to Elena as he heard the foot falls stop, he knew it caught up to him. He turned around to see it staring at him with its eyes, analysing the situation. Jeremy shifted his weight to one foot ready to run hoping he could escape as it scanned over him, but it was to late, it sensed his shift. It ran forth and sank his fangs into Jeremy's neck, draining him dry.

" Damon." Jeremy whispered.

A/N: That is that. I hope you liked it at least a little bit.
