PJO Drabble
Prompt: The tattoos failed to amuse her.
Percy halted, and chuckled nervously. Annabeth narrowed her eyes, and in a dangerous tone of voice, inquired again, "So what exactly did you do last weekend. You said you out with Jason and Leo, right?" Now, Percy was mentally panicking. When Annabeth asked him out to a coffee shop in New Rome, he had expected a date, not an interrogation. Not to mention, he felt as if his usually rather tolerant girlfriend would kill him if she knew what had transpired that night. Realizing that, lost in his thoughts, he had left Annabeth waiting for his answer, he started shakily, "Well, um, you see- Ah! Frank!" Percy thought he had never appreciated Frank more than in that moment.
"Hey Percy, "Frank started," Reyna asked me to tell you she wanted you to meet her at her office, she said something about sparring." At that, Percy leapt out of his seat, quickly apologized to Annabeth, grabbed Frank's arm and dragged them both to where Reyna would be waiting for him.
"Sorry, Frank, about the rush, but one does not keep the scariest praetor to ever rule Rome waiting," Percy clarified to the son of Mars.
"Wait, she's the scariest? What about me?" Frank grumbled.
"Frank, to be completely honest, you're a panda. Not to mention, I have witnessed Reyna without her morning coffee. I'm traumatized." Percy explained with mock sympathy. Frank just huffed, and continued walking. Neither witnessed Annabeth scowling at Percy, nor her pulling out her phone and texting someone.
Finally reaching an average-sized building next to the Curia, the two demigods parted ways. Walking into the daughter of Bellona's workplace, Percy was faced with a growing sense of dread. All of the rooms were dark, and looked undisturbed. Hearing shuffling behind him, Percy tried to turn around. Suddenly, he felt blinding pain erupt in the back of his head, and the last thing he saw was the floor rushing up to greet him.
When Percy finally awoke, it was to a bucket of cold water being thrown at him, which soon helped curb the throbbing bruise at the point he had been hit. Finally daring to open his eyes, Percy found himself tied in a chair in a badly lit room, surrounded by, not some of the countless monsters he had made an enemy of, not the titans, nor the giants, but Piper, Reyna, Thalia, and Annabeth.
Apparently, the demigoddesses had decided he had enough time to orient himself with his surroundings, as Piper started talking, "Well, Perseus Achilles Jackson, you are probably wondering why you are here. To put it shortly, for the past week, your poor girlfriend has been trying to subtly investigate your outing last week. Needless to say, you rebuffed all of her atgtempts, forcing us to this desperate measure."
