She just couldn't believe it happened, not to her Jacen.
Friend Jacen.
She wanted to ignore the signs that crept into her doubts at night. She wanted to ignore the cries of her daughter when they knew he was near.
In the end, she could ignore it no longer.
The one person who could make her smile at the Academy; the only one who truly kept her alive and sane during the Vong invasion; the only man she gave herself to, despite the secrets and lies that shrouded their love…
He was gone.
He was no longer the person he was. If only she could make him Force-walk back to that child who saved any animal he could…
…back to the young adult who feared the Dark Side…
…back to the man who proved he could love unconditionally…
…if only, if only.
But she knew that "if only" wasn't reality and was for dreamers who couldn't face the truth.
She wished for that naivety. Her child, the one link she had left of Jacen's past, was in danger because of him. And she had to give her daughter up.
Jacen's time was coming to an end. And for everything he once was and could have been, Tenel Ka wept.
