Wolf Tracks Ashley.D.Burke Chapter 1:the beginning of the end " Kabro run! Get out of here now!" He tried to warn me but his voice just slipped past me unlike the bullet that now pierced my chest. I tried to run, I tried to scream but it was no use my body wouldn't move. I dropped to my knees finally feeling the pain, which now spread throughout my body. " Kohaku." His name was all I could say before I was surrounded by darkness. People say that when death is upon you your whole life flashes before your eyes, from your first breathe to your last. My name is Kabro Princess of the northwestern lands, when I died my whole life didn't just flash before my eyes, instead my life played through my mind like a movie, a very long movie. My mind brought me back all the way to when I was still just a young pup exploring my territory. I was a wolf demon so it was hard exploring your own land when you had to watch out for humans. I was walking through the gardens when my brother Kokachi walked in " Kabro lets go. Father wishes to speak with us." Right after he said that I knew we were in some kind of trouble but I was wrong. As we entered the throne room I noticed some baggage's were packed. " There you are." My father said. " Your mother and I have to leave for a few days and we are leaving you two home here." I rolled my eyes at the thought of staying home with my brother. " Don't look at me that way, were leaving Kokachi in charge so you better behave." Just the thought of Kokachi in charge made me groan out loud. " Dad do you have to leave HIM in charge? I'm old enough to watch my self I don't need HIM watching me." I said referring to HIM as my brother. " Now you listen to me you will do as your brother says or you will be grounded to your room until we get back. Do you under stand me?" I knew after he talked in that kind of tone (the one that sounds like he's telling you 'be quiet and do as I say'.) that there was no use arguing. All a kid could say is "Yes sir." My parents left and my brother gave me that look the one that says ' Ha! You got yelled at and you have to listen to me.' When my brother went to bed later on that night I packed a bag. There was no way I was going to stay in this house with HIM as my baby sitter. So I left southbound, didn't know where I was going but I didn't care as long as I was out of there.
