Blake ducked under the gazebo to avoid getting wet. When she looked up, she saw her crush, Yang. Her heart leapt into her throat. Both girls stood there awkwardly, staring into the other's eyes.
"Um… hi Yang," Blake said.
Yang waved. The moment was so awkward and tense. But something completely unexpected happened. Yang moved forward to hug Blake. Blake stiffly stood in the other girl's arms, not moving. Slowly, she wrapped her arms around the other girl. It felt good to be hugged.
Yang broke away. "Um Blake. I don't know how to say this… I like you." Yang crossed her arms and bowed her head.
Blake smiled and lifted Yang's chin. "I like you too."
And the two girls walked together in the rain, holding hands.
