The sun was setting low, leaving golden strands of sunlight upon the green hills. Atop the tallest hill grew a Weeping Willow whose roots grew out a bit and curled gently around the hilltop like little fingers. Next to the tree, a young girl sat curled into a ball, weeping, protected by the willow's curtain-like branches. "Why?" she sobbed, her tears streaming tiny little river upon her dusty face. "He said he'd never go... No, no, no!" With every 'no' she bashed her tiny fists on the grass in frustration. Pulling fistfuls of grass out, she took a deep breath and attempted to calm herself down. "He...lied to me," she whispered, horrified with the realisation. She couldn't help it; the tears began again, tracing the lines already drawn into her cheeks.

"Are you okay, Miss?" a boy asked. He peeked up from the hillside that he had apparently been climbing up. He honestly looked concerned. "I'm...I'm fine, don't worry about me," She replied, wiping the tears away angrily, but her voice cracked too soon. He stumbled up the rest of the way and sat next to her. "What's wrong?" He asked again, and she noticed his brilliantly bright blue eyes sparkle with worry for this girl he didn't even know. "I...uh...It's complicated," she stuttered, still lost in his eyes. He grinned a little and commented back with a witty response, "Nothing is too complicated if you think about it." So she began to explain.

It had gotten dark by the time she finished her story, and by then she was crying again. She was thankful to have someone who actually cared to listen to her story; it was nice to have someone care again. He nodded in understanding when she started crying in earnest, and put his arm around her shoulder. "Don't worry, about a thing, cause every little thing, is gonna be alright," he sung quietly, but loud enough for her to hear, and she cried harder. "How do I know that's true?" She sobbed. He shifted and held her so he could look at her. He looked confused. "How do I know every thing's going to be alright?" she cried into his shoulder.

"Because," He began, looking down at her again. She looked up, her eyes still wet with tears. "Because I love you, and despite the fact that we've only known each other for little under an hour-no in fact we don't really know each other- I feel like I've known you for a million lifetimes. I just hope you love me too, so everything will be alright." she gasped, and her heart fluttered. By the gods! I must be dreaming! She thought. As if to make his words more believable, he kissed her, and instantly she knew...

Everything really was going to be alright for once. Finally she could fall into loving arms and hear someone say "It'll be alright," and know they're telling the truth.
