Challenge 1
"Families are messy. Immortal families are eternally messy. Sometimes the best we can do is to remind each other that we're related for better or for worse… and try to keep the maiming and killing to a minimum." – Rick Riordan
(sorry if this is bad, it's my first challenge.)
Leafpool was his mother? He had to keep himself from lashing out at her. After all this time thinking Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw were his parents, Leafpool and Crowfeather, a grumpy Windclan tom, were his real parents. Squirrelflight had known, and she had never given even the slightest hint that he wasn't her real son. His whole life was a lie, and he was a low half-clan cat. One day he thought he could be something great, but now his dreams were dashed.
Jayfeather turned to him and whispered, "Come on Lionblaze, lets go." The gray tabby padded away quickly, and after a moment Lionblaze followed. They finally stopped at an old oak tree. Lionblaze turned and looked off into the distance. He thought of Cinderheart. What would she do if she knew? Would she still love him? Jayfeather slowly walked towards camp. He didn't care. All he wanted was to be alone.
...
The sun was falling, and it was getting cold. Ahead he saw the tree where he had grieved his former life on that terrible day, many moons ago. It still haunted his dreams, but he had accepted it after a while. Now he was happy with his mate, Cinderheart, who would soon be kitting. Just to think of being a father amazed him. Crowfeather still didn't accept him and his littermates, but that was okay, he had more important things than to strive to get attention from his father.
He quickly stalked a plump vole, and killed it with one graceful flick of his claws. This would be for Cinderheart, to keep her energy up. As he stood up Hollyleaf rammed into him at full speed. Why is she always so careless! "Oops, sorry Lionblaze I didn't see you there."
Didn't see him there?! "Nevermind, I need to get back to camp." he said, clearly annoyed. He stalked back to camp angrily, scaring away any prey close by. Finally he got back to camp. As he gave Cinderheart the vole, Jayfeather came up to him and asked him to collect cobwebs because he was running low. I just got back to camp, and now I have to go find cobwebs for Jayfeather. Great.
As Lionblaze was coming back to camp with the cobwebs, he looked over at his whole family gathered in the clearing. When he went over, they all greeted him affectionately. They all grabbed some prey to share, and sat down to eat. Jayfeather thanked him for getting the cobwebs, and Cinderheart murmured her thanks for the delicious vole. As they all started to share tongues, he realized his family could sometimes be annoying and careless, that they were the cats that would always be there for him.
