John shuffled into the nursery. Sherlock was hunched over the crib, cooing at the squirming child. The squirming child that Molly had so kindly volunteered to carry and give birth to. John attempted to stifle his laugh, but Sherlock heard it anyway and immediately stopped his sweet, fatherly actions.
"Sherlock…" John muttered, obviously disappointed that Sherlock had ceased.
"John." Sherlock shot back. John had never seen Sherlock embarrassed. The thought of Sherlock having human emotions brought a smirk to John's face. He decided to ignore the topic of the cooing, so he brought up a more important matter. John cleared his throat and began what he was sure would turn into a lengthy one-sided debate.
"I want to call him Andrew." He delicately stated, not wanting to upset the man he loved so dearly. Sherlock spun on his heel to front John. His face flickered with a mix of amusement and anger.
"No." Sherlock said in a curt manner. He strode out of the room, John scuttling after him.
"And why not?" John asserted in his gruffest voice. Sherlock grinned at John's attempt at hardiness.
"Because it sounds far too much like Anderson, and you know of my disdain for that creature." Sherlock sneered at the thought of his son having a name similar to that putrid man.
"He was my old friend i-in the army and... he died I just thought that-…" John stammered dejectedly.
"Drew." Sherlock interrupted. He turned to face John.
"W-what?"
"We'll call him Drew." He waltzed away, smiling with pride. John padded back to the nursery and plopped himself down in a rocking chair. A black mass of curly hair popped into the room.
"Oh, and John?" Sherlock said, stooping down so his face was close to John's. "Short names are better. Take yours, for example." John smiled. Sherlock picked up his chin and tenderly kissed him before leaving the room once again.
AN: This is my very first piece of writing I have ever done. I am really anxious to get feedback on it. I would appreciate anything! Additionally, this story came about when I realized that my friend Drew looks like the JohnLock baby.
