Ozpin knew that he would need to intervene if Jaune didn't turn around soon. Ozpin sighed, Jaune hadn't noticed the ursa sneaking up behind him. With a sudden burst of movement Ozpin was in front of the large, soulless bear that is an ursa and with a quick, precise flick of his wrist the tip of his cane came up and impacted the center of the ursa's paw, stopping its heavy strike.

Jaune heard a light thud behind and turned around only to Professor Ozpin standing behind him with the tip of his cane raised holding back an ursa with no visible strain or effort.

"I got lucky." Jaune thought to himself completely aware of what would've happened had the headmaster of Beacon Academy not stopped the ursa's strike.

"You really should be more aware of your surroundings Mr. Arc." Professor Ozpin said aloud even without looking back towards Jaune, keeping his eyes focused on the murderous grimm in front of him.

"My bad professor." Jaune said in apology to the headmaster of Beacon Academy.

"It's alright, that's why you're at Beacon, to learn." Ozpin stated calmly and with that he pulled the lever action trigger on the handle of his cane.

Jaune was dumbfounded, one moment there was an eight foot ursa with a rather confused look on its face standing in front of Professor Ozpin and in the next moment there was the sharp ringing crack of a high powered firearm and the head, arms, and upper part of the ursa's torso were just gone like they'd never existed in the first place. With a thud the ursa's lower body fell to the ground and began to evaporate like all of the creatures of grimm do when they're killed.

"Now how about we return to Beacon, I'm sure your friends are worried about you seeing as how you've been in the Emerald forest all day, wouldn't you agree Mr. Arc?" Ozpin said in a rather light hearted tone.
