"I love you…" I whispered to my girlfriend who was laid next to me, just waking up.
"I love you too." She slurred before quickly falling back asleep.
She has to get up now or else we'll be late for our appointment. "Hey, Justine! Wake up, love." I shook her, trying to make her wake up again. My plan failed, resulting in me pulling the sheets completely off the bed.
"Why must you do this to me, woman?" Justine said a bit harshly and reached for the covers, though groaned when she realized they were sprawled on the floor. Justine definitely wasn't a morning person.
"Because we have to do a lot of wedding shit today and we have to be at the cake place by 11," I turned to look at the clock nearby. "It's 10 now."
Justine flinched at the cold air suddenly hitting her warm body and reached for the sheets to gain comfort again even after knowing they were on the ground.
"Fine, fine, jeez. Just let me shower real fast." She said, getting up and kissing my cheek. "Wanna come?" She smirked.
"Oo hard pass." I said and pouted playfully.
"You're loss, baby." She slapped my ass and walked off. That's what I get to look forward to for the rest of my life.
"So what cake place is it anyways?" Justine asked as we were almost to the cake shop.
"Uh, Mimi's Cakes or Cakes by Mimi? Some shit like that." I knew it had Mimi's in it, that's for sure.
"Nice memory, Kelsi." Justine told me, laughing.
"Shut up. At least I know where we're going." I laughed with her. I knew my memory was a bit fucked. I don't remember little details that end up being pretty damn crucial in the end and that was one thing I hated. It's not that hard to remember shit but I find a way, of course.
We arrived at the shop only to see it was called Cakes via Migis, not Mimis. I guess my memory was very fucked.
Justine nudged my arm, knowing I had realized my mistake. I just rolled my eyes.
We walked inside and the aroma of baking and sweetness hit our faces. It smelled like Christmas and it was amazing. I loved Christmas time. Everything was so cuddly that time of year.
"Ah! You must be Kelsi and Justine!" A kind of short man exclaimed. He had short, dark brown hair that looked like it had been recently shaven off.
"Yep! That's us!" Justine said, sticking her hand out to shake the man's hand.
"Excellent! I'm Tyler and this is Josh." Tyler said as another man came up behind him and shook our hands. He was a bit taller than the former but only by a few inches. He had pink dyed, short hair that looked sick as frick.
"We have your cake ready, it's in the fridge. We just wanted to have you guys take a look at it before the wedding." Josh told us. He was very nice.
"Alright, cool, thanks!" I said. I was a bit excited. I mean, cake. My cake, at that. "Awesome hair by the way." I added with a huge smile.
"Thanks!" He replied, smiling back and leading the way to the cake.
When we saw it our mouths dropped in awe. It was so beautiful. We didn't want a traditional, white cake because we're too rad for boring cake. Instead our cake was a light green with lavender trim and darker purple flowers scattered over the top and second tier.
"I'm guessing we did a good job?" Tyler said with a chuckle.
"More than good! It's amazing! Thanks so much!" Justine replied with a huge smile. Mine was just as large.
"Oh, anytime! We're glad you like it!" Josh said, grabbing the smaller boy's hand. "We hope you guys have a nice wedding day."
"Thank you so much." I said. This was going to be perfect, I could already tell.
