I saw Dynasty and I had to fight down the smile that was going to show; I was in trouble. But she came! I stood up and met her gaze, trying to convey how sorry I was.
Connor stood also, "I'll leave you guys alone." He walked away and I silently thanked him.
Dynasty came into the room from the doorway and I felt guilt wash over me, more than before. I couldn't look in the eyes. I turned to walk in the direction Connor had just gone. "I was just going." I mumbled.
Her voice made me stop dead in my tracks. "I don't know what you think you were doing, but you're an idiot!"
"I know." I muttered.
She answered so quickly, I thought she didn't quite hear me. "You could've gotten hurt. Never would've forgiven me self."
"I'm so sorry." I apologised instantly. I felt so guilty...
I gazed into her eyes and in that moment, everything was forgiven. She rushed towards me and I collected her in an embrace. It felt so good to have her in my arms again, without too much to worry about.
"I can't believe I thought shooting him would fix things. I can't believe I thought you'd be OK with that." I muttered into her hair.
She chuckled, slightly, then pulled away, only to lift her hand to my face and slap me. "You idiot! You could've been killed! Never do that again!" She slapped my arm this time.
I just took it. If this was my punishment rather than prison, I was completely OK with that. "I am sorry." I repeated.
"You'd better be."
"Do I get a reward? For trying to keep you safe?" I asked, cheekily.
She smirked, and I did the same. She leant forward slightly and caught my lips with hers. I responded immediately and soon we were making out in a police station. Never thought I'd say that!
We separated and I embraced her in my arms again. Just to make sure this wasn't a dream and she was really here and I wasn't dead. "I've been released on bail. D'you wanna go home?"
"Yeah." She nodded, so I looped my arm around her neck, she slithered hers around my waist and we made our way home.
