Abel stared at his long term boyfriend who held out a box of sugary confections that looked like it must have drained Abel's wallet if twenty to thirty dollars.
"What is that?" Abel stared down at his Danish lover.
"A confession of how much I love you." Mathias smiled up at his Dutch lover.
"By draining my money?" Abel stared him down.
"No. By getting you a delicious gift." Mathias answered him, still with that hyperactive grin on his face.
"Do you have to spend money to tell someone how much you love them?" Abel asked Mathias after rolling his eyes at the Dane's previous response to him.
"No, but I wanted to." Mathias answered with a playful grin.
"It was my money." Abel grumbled, dragging his lover towards him to show him a completely different way of 'expressing love' for one another.
Naturally, Mathias had a great evening on Valentine's Day regardless of his exuberant gift to his lover, and even Abel enjoyed himself.
