Sam awoke suddenly. He wiped the sweat from his furrowed brow and scanned the beach for her. They had been stranded here for almost a week now, and he always woke up, thinking she'd be gone. He hated the feeling. But she was there, still sleeping right next to him in the smoldering heat.

Sam pushed her golden hair out of her face and kissed her forehead. He got up slowly so he wouldn't wake her, and searched for something to make for breakfast. The island was small enough that he could walk around the entire thing. It was a miracle they'd found it at all. When their boat had wrecked, they hopped on the lifeboat with everything they could carry, was admittedly was not much at all. Within a day they'd gone through their meager water and food supplies, and they searched for land. With luck, they came upon the tiny island they now lovingly referred to as home.

Since then, Sam vowed to protect Brittany. He just wanted her to be safe. He woke up every morning an made the two of them some breakfast, then they would work on their shelter together, then Brittany would make lunch. After lunch they gathered any extra supplies they needed, washed up in the water, and relaxed until dinner. It was a nice little system they had, and it felt like they were a real married couple.

Today Sam decided he would make a fruit salad and some fish for breakfast. There were plenty of varieties of fish in the water and Sam never had trouble catching them. Plus, the island was full of all different fruits. He knew Britt loved tropical fruit so really, it was perfect. He made a small fire, and grilled up some of the fresh catch. He didn't know what kind of fish it was, but it certainly did the job. Next he mashed up some pineapples and mangoes and made a sauce to go on top of the fish. He chopped up the rest of the fruit and put them in bowls that they had made from sticks tied together with giant leaves inside. He carried all the food over to where Britt was sleeping. He sang to her.

"The morning will come

In the press of every kiss

With your head upon my chest

Where I will annoy you

With every waking breath

Until you decide to wake up"

He planted another kiss on her forehead as she awoke with an adorable sleepy yawn. "Thank you baby" she smiled up at him in the sun. He kissed her again and they ate their breakfast in comfortable silence.

He looked down at the ring on her finger, shining brightly in the sun. This wasn't really a honeymoon, but as far as he was concerned, they could live like this forever and he would die a happy man.
