Ratchet was never one for music. He never really got the point of it. It was something that just seemed like the white noise of the rest of the world.
Unneeded.
After all, he always had the moving gears and sprockets noise that Clank made to listen to. Clank however was quite fond of music.
Ever since he lived with the Zoni, Clank seemed to be more whimsical about it too. He'd turn the radio on each time the quiet settled in Aphelion's cockpit ang hum merrily with the toons. Sometimes his big optics would even close as he swayed to and fro.
Today was much the same. The two were leaving Velden to visit Talwyn, Cronk, and Zephyr at the Apogee Station. They chatted for about an hour until falling into a comfortable silence.
Then Clank turned on the radio.
A regular old toon that Clank had taken a liking to came on. The tiny Zoni robot instantly lit up and started to hum along at once. Ratchet hardly ever payed attention to the sound, though he liked how Clank hummed, instead choosing to let the noise roll over him and concentrate on the whole of space.
Today was just different, he guessed.
About halfway through the song, Clank stopped his hums and looked at the Lombax curiously. Ratchet noticed this and glanced at the diminutive robot and raised a fuzzy eyebrow. Clank took this as his que to speak.
"Ratchet, were you humming?"
Ratchet's full attention as focused on the Zoni souled robot an veered slightly to the left.
"No!"
He fixed his chores when Apheleon raised alarm. Clank continued to stare at his long time friend.
"But you were." He insisted.
"No I wasn't, Pal. You must've just heard something else."
To this, Clank pressed the famous repay button and a soft vibrating sound almost like a purr filled the small cockpit.
Both boys listened to the sound in silence until Ratchet began to chuckle. His chuckle soon turned into booming laughter. Clank joined in on his mirth.
"And they say i'm a bad influence on you, pal!"
"Yes well, I am simply happy that you have grown to enjoy music as I have."
Ratchet calmed down and began to think about it.
"Maybe not. I don't think that it's the music."
"What do you mean?"
"Well," he started, unsure how to say it. It was sort of embarrassing. "I think it's you, not the music, that I was humming with."
Clank too thought this over. The next song began to play and the robot smiled somewhat smugly.
"I enjoy this song as well Ratchet. Would you care to join me in my humming along?"
The fuzz ball chuckled and leaned back into his seat. "Sure pal, I'd love to."
Clank started first and Ratchet, voluntary this time, followed suit.
When there destination was reached, Clank was sure to 'accidentally' pressed the replay button for Talwyn to hear.

This is my first Ratchet and Clank story. The reason behind it was the radio in ACIT. I always thought wondered if Clank liked the tunes and just assumed that he did because the Zoni seemed so melodic even when they giggled.
