Plot:What happens when Cloud finds Sora dead?
AUTHORS NOTE:
Kiyoko-kun is out of commission for awhile. Why, you ask? The answer is simple, my dear. KIYOKO'S OUT OF THE COUNTRY!! So, I, Kitty-chan, will be your lovable author of a few of these new FF's. However, Kiyoko says hi from the spot in Cuba, and promises to force me to answer all of your reviews. Well, now that's over, and you can read this glorious story I wrote. Enjoy!
Death had stopped surprising Cloud years ago. After all, he had killed many men in his SOLDIER days, and after those were done, he had killed many heartless. So, death came...easy for Cloud.
At least, that's what he had tried to convince himself of.
Cloud had followed Leon when he said he was going in search of Sora. He knew how much that boy meant to Leon, even if Leon didn't. Everyone could see that Sora was Leon's light. His hope. Leon cared for that boy as much as Cloud himself would care for a little brother. So Cloud knew that when Leon found Sora dead (as Cloud knew he would be), that Leon would need a shoulder to cry on.
Cloud stumbled into the room Leon had walked into moments before and stood, shocked, at the devastation before him. The room reeked of death. Everything was caked in blood. The air was still and silent, as if it was grieving for the dead too. In one of the corners lie Rage, the man Sora was supposed to be fighting. On look at his bruised and bloodied body confirmed Cloud's suspicions. It didn't surprise Cloud that he had taken quite a beating before falling to his imminent death.
Then there was Sora.
He lie on his back, his face etched in permanent surprise. Dried blood made its mark down Sora's chin, exposing the fact that he coughed some out before dieing. His eyes- Cloud had to look away. But it was too late. The image of those blue eyes that were always so full of life and love, but now empty, and cold, imprinted itself in his mind, never to be forgotten.
Next to him, was Riku. He lie on his side, a dagger through his heart. The numerous slashes and bruises on his arms and chest suggested a rough fight before he went down. The blood stain soaked the light blue shirt he was wearing, and his hands were poised around the dagger, like he was trying to yank it out. Thankfully, his eyes were closed.
Then a cry pierced the air.
Cloud looked over to the corner closest to Sora to see Leon, huddled, shaking, and crying. Cloud's own blue eyes closed in sympathy. There wasn't much that could make the stoic brunette cry. After all, he had experienced death first hand. He had killed, and he had been hunted. Death, didn't surprise Leon.
Surprisingly intense rage covered Cloud's sences, and he glared at the small boy that could make this warrior cry.
Who was he to invade their lives, and give them hope, only to have yank it away in the cruelest of forms? How dare he give light to the people he touched. How dare he even invade? They were all better off without him.
At least now, they can get back to the real world, were hope doesn't exist.
And it was with these thoughts that Cloud turned, and walked out of the room, leaving Leon to himself. And it was with these actions that Cloud missed the only thing that could have surprised him.
Life.
YEAH! Finished. I sent this copy to Kiyoko-kun, and got full approval. Why does that matter? It doesn't. But I thought you would like to know. A couple more stories are on their way, including the single longest one-shot that Kiyoko-kun has ever written. I got the unfinished copy, and I, the loyal minion, vow to finish it. Well, this is the spot were I'm supposed to say...
