A/N: Short one-shot, takes place during Chuck vs. the Broken Heart. Chuck is in the room when Sarah is reassigned, and he's not too happy about it.
"Chuck you will now be working with Agent Forest and-"
"No."
"Excuse me?"
"Bartowski, pipe down, and keep quiet." Casey hissed, but Chuck ignored him, keeping his eyes locked on the General.
"Ever since I opened that email, my entire life has been turned upside down. I have to lie to my friends, my family, my coworkers, I have been robbed of anything resembling a normal life all because you couldn't keep your house in order General. I don't get paid for this, hell if something happened to me my sister wouldn't even be able to know why! Now I understand that there is a chain of command and I understand that there are things that have to be kept secret for people's own safety, but this is where I draw the line."
"Mr. Bartowski-"
"Let me finish General. I have done everything that I have been asked, and not once have I complained or done anything save for my job. But let me make one thing perfectly clear. If Sarah Walker is out, then so am I. Now before you think of shipping me off to some detention facility, I will tell you right now that I will put a bullet in my own head to prevent that from happening. Then who's going to clean up your mess?"
For a moment the General said nothing, but finally she spoke.
"Agent Walker...I hope you haven't packed your bags, you're not going anywhere."
"But General, Walker clearly broke protocol and-"
"And Chuck has a point. We have messed up his entire life, all because I couldn't keep my house in order. You're dismissed Agent Forest."
"Yes General." She replied before exiting the room.
"For the record General, I agree with Bartowski."
"Your approval is noted Major. Chuck, I may have allowed Agent Walker to stay, but I warn you that should you ever talk to me like that again we will be having a completely different conversation."
"I understand General."
"Good, now enjoy the rest of your day." She said before signing off.
"I need to go file my report on our last mission." Casey said before he walked out of the room, leaving Sarah alone with the human Intersect.
"Chuck, why-"
"You're the one good thing that has happened in my life since this whole Intersect bussiness started. I didn't intend to lose you without a fight. I know we can't really be together but having you in my life is better than not at all."
Sarah didn't say anything for a minute. Then she walked over and kissed him full on the lips.
"Sarah what about-"
"You heard Forest. I already broke protocol once, what's one more?" She asked before kissing him again, and that was how Casey found them when he came back down to Castle an hour later.
