As I walked towards her, my mind felt dazed. All I could see was her and me. The people in background were blurred. Good, I thought. I know what my goal is. I approached her, where she was sitting and reading her Greek Architecture book.

I took a deep breath, and said with not much confidence,

"Annabeth?"

She looked up at me...straight in the eyes...those beautiful, stormy gray eyes. The wind blew her golden hair, and she looked especially pretty.

"Do you want to go on a walk with me? I, uh, I've got something to tell you..." I said.

"Percy, we've had a thousand walks before, and you've said the same thing a thousand times, and a thousand times I've heard you compliment the birds with dissapointment written on your face. I hope you've got something different to tell me this time." she said with her silky voice, and then added, "Seaweed Brain!"

"Don't worry...the birds haven't come out yet.." I said with a stupid grin on my face.

We walked into the woods for a while, in silence. Then, I gathered up all the courage I had, then stated as if giving a speech, "Annabeth..." She looked at me straight in the eyes, and I faltered. She had and expecting look in her eyes, which made me nervous."Uh,...I, uh,...don't you think the birds look nice today?"

I just couldn't break my record for being a complete asinine. She sighed, then said, "Percy, we should be going back now...let's go."

"No, wait! Look, Annabeth, I know this is tiring, but I've been trying to tell you one thing for days and I just can't do it!" I blurted.

"Well, then, I'm waiting..." she said with a serious look on her face.

Taking a deep breath I said, "Annabeth, we've been through a lot together. We've always looked out for each other, and we both know that you're the one who does the looking out part."

She smiled.

I continued,"I always wondered why I felt safe and happy around you, and then it hit me..."

"Literally?"

"Annabeth, I'm not kidding; it hit me that I...I...I love you..."

Silence...complete silence...

"Thank gods, Percy...it finally came out of you!"

"You knew?" I asked, although I already had a feeling she did.

"I don't know about that, but I do know that I love you back.."

She ran up to me and gave me a hug, not a normal hug, but one that communicated our love for each other...before we broke apart, my last thought was, That felt better than being on Olympus!
