"How can you DO that, Alice?" cried a small girl with long black hair, looking at her friend in agony, "I can't just sit still like you can!" Alice, another petite girl with sky blue eyes, which were half shut, turned drowsily around. "I would find, Melody, that sitting still is the easiest way to find adventure." Melody frowned, and then said "My mother would be mad if I stayed too long. She's way too touchy." Alice looked over, and spoke, saying "Well, in that case, we should go find adventure, instead of it coming to us!"

The two girls jumped up, Alice grabbing her kitten, and stood still for a moment. "Where should we go to find adventure?" asked Melody. "That way" Alice said, pointing right. Melody beamed "Why?" "I don't know!" Alice giggled, and the two girls raced off.

They stopped when they heard an "I'm late!" A white rabbit holding a large clock raced past them, knocking Melody onto the ground. "Hey!" shouted Alice angrily to the rabbit "Stop that!"

Melody leapt up. She was OK, a bit scruffy, but OK all the same. "Let's follow the rabbit!" Melody said, her eyes lit at the prospect of a proper adventure! Alice nodded, still a little miffed at the rabbit for knocking her friend over. The two bounded off, their feet padding against the green and brown of England.

Melody was on holiday here with her mother. The oceans weren't as lovely, but then again, her mother didn't like her going in the ocean anyway. Not that she ever did what her mother said.

The rabbit looked both ways, and then jumped into a large rabbit hole that was next to a big oak tree. Melody grabbed Alice's arm, for Alice had been about to fall in! "C'mon" breathed Melody "Let's look inside." Alice peered in the big dark hole "My, I can't even see the bottom!" Melody peered even closer in "It's so, so-"her sentence was cut off, for a shriek escaped her lips. Alice whipped her head around, to see Melody, arms flailing, falling into the rabbit hole. Without second thought, Alice leapt in after her.

As Alice fell, her dress popped open, leaving her fall slow. Melody, seeing Alice, grit her teeth, and ran through the air. She grabbed Alice's leg, and Alice pulled her up beside herself.

"I'm SO sorry!" Melody babbled "I didn't want you to jump in, and-" Alice shushed her. "It's OK, Melody. Would you have done the same for me?" Melody cried "Yes, but-" Alice shushed her again. "Then it's alright."
Alice pulled Melody up, and showed her how to float without a dress. "What you must do is spread out your arms, like this." Melody tried it cautiously, and to her surprise, she found she could float as well!

"Look!" Melody suddenly shouted, pointing to a chair. "It's a chair." said Alice calmly. Melody's jaw dropped. "A chair shouldn't be in a tunnel like this!" Alice nodded, frowning slightly. She floated over, and sat on the cushy armchair. Melody looked stunned for a moment, and then decided that, really, it wasn't a bad idea. Melody moved to a chair as well, picked up a book, and began to read. It was called 'Oliver Twist'.

After about 30 minutes of reading, the dynamic duo decided to discuss the bottom of the hole. "What if," began Alice 'What if we come out on the other side of the earth! Then we'll be upside down!" Melody nodded, and said her idea "What if we go through to the centre of the earth! Then we'll DIE!"

"Hold on!" cried Alice with a beam "We're at the end! I can see it!"
