Chapter 1: Lunar's beginning
September 18th was the time that Lunar was born at the Ponyville hospital. Being the son of two pegusi he should have been one too. That was not the case though. Instead he was born a bat-pony. His mother and father were shocked to see him. He was born with a navy blue coat and a dark purple mane and tail, but the feature that got him the name Lunar Eclipse was his one pure red eye. His other eye was the same as his coat but the problem was he couldn't see out of the left blue eye.
After his parents took him home they had no idea how they would take care of him. The father even started to dought that Lunar was his son, but the mother was worried that he would be picked on when he was older. They raised Lunar for the first four years of his life. Then when he learned to fly there plan to hide him began.
Lunar was flying in the house as he shouted, "Wee, this is fun!" While his parents looked at him and talked about how to hide him from the world.
The father who had no real love for Lunar said, "We should take him some where that he can't get out of easily." His wife had a sad look after what her husband said.
She gave him a stern look then and told him, "We can't just put him out there in a place that he doesn't know. We need to protect him." And the argument went without the young colt being aware of what was happening. Finally the mother gave into her husbands plan.
When Lunar fell asleep they grabbed him and left to the Everfree Forest. They planed on leaving him there, and so they put him in an open part of the forest and left. However they would never make it out for they were ambushed by timber wolves and the sound of their screams woke Lunar Eclipse up and he ran to the screams. The sight he saw was burned into his mind as his parents were gone from the living. The wolves saw him standing there and at that moment he thought he was going to die right then and there. Lunar was so scared that all he could do was wait for his end with eyes shut tight, but it never came. He opened his good eye and what he saw was a black and white striped creature standing in front of him with no timber wolves in sight. Then all of a sudden everything went dark.
Lunar later woke up in a bed that was not his. As he sat up he heard somepony humming and started looking around for the source. He did not have to look long for right in front of him was a gray and black striped creature that was a bit bigger then he was. When the creature looked his way it said, "Your awake finally, just in time for dinner my friend."
"What are you? I've never seen a pony like you before?" Lunar questioned the creature.
Just then another one came in and said "We are not pony's young one. We are Zebras."
At those Lunar remembered a story he read about them and became immediately nerves. When the bigger zebra was turning to shut the door Lunar saw his chance an flew out as fast as he could ignoring the zebra calling for him. He began flying to the castle of the two sisters where he would later call home.
The first thing Lunar did in the castle was look for a place to hide. As he was looking he he stumbled upon a secret room that was the full of bits so he's decided to stay in there.
A few hours passed and when there was no sign of the zebras that was when Lunar decided to explore the castle. He discovered many rooms in the castle. His the favorite room though was the library. Their had been tons of books that were very old but his favorite book was one that had Martial arts. The styles were very old and over the years he learned to master all of them until he got his cutie mark. It was the Yin Yang symbol the symbol used for all martial arts. There was 1 style though that he went beyond mastery and that is the art of the ninja.
