Hi, this is a little, short drabble from Ryan's point of view

Hi, this is a short drabble from Ryan's point of view. It's for the prompt 'And' on my fanfic100 table.

I don't know if anyone was the same but I felt a little sorry for Ryan in the last episode when Seth kept calling Sophie his little sister not their little sister, so I wrote this, around 500 words, drabble speculating on it.

And

It was always the Cohens and Ryan. It was something Ryan had got used too and was happy that he was included with the Cohens but in other ways it made him feel like more of an outsider.

He knew he wasn't really a Cohen- not by blood- but it didn't stop him pretending his name was Ryan Cohen and the reason he and Kirsten looked so similar was because she was his biological mom.

When Sophie came she'd been a member of the family four years less than him but she was already considered more than him. Yes, she was the Cohen's baby but it still hurt when Seth talked about his baby sister and not their baby sister.

It sounded stupid and Ryan would never dare tell the Cohens about how he was feeling but it still nagged at him.

When they went out he was the one who looked more like the big brother with the little sister. Seth looked like the adopted brother.

Sandy often joked about how much Ryan and Sophie looked like siblings. Seth was the one left to mumble that it was only because they both had blonde hair and that they didn't look that alike. Okay, so maybe that was the reason but he took pride in looking like Sophie. Looking like her, made him feel like he did belong with the Cohens and he wasn't just the adopted son.

Sophie was too little and innocent to know he wasn't really her brother and wouldn't understand the concept of adoption even if he tried to carefully explain what it meant. It was nice having someone who didn't think of the family as the Cohens and Ryan just "mama", "dada", "Wy", and "Seffy."

He'd made sure since she was born that he was around her as much as possible so that when she did learn the truth, she's still think of him as a brother.

It had made his year when Sandy had rung him up gushing and told him that she had spoken her first word and it had been "Wy."

Once he had got off the phone he' not been able to stop smiling. He'd made sure to give her a big kiss when he'd seen her next. Then, when she'd crawled up to him wanting attention, he'd read her, her favourite story.

One day he'd go back to being the Cohens and Ryan but that was hopefully a few years from now. By then he was planning to have married Taylor and he'd have his own family. They'd adopt their child from Chino and they'd be the Atwoods. No and, no anything. Their child would be a part of their family and there would be no doubt about it.

The End
