Return of Okami Amaterasu

Chapter 2

Amaterasu landed without a sound on the Earth, in the Hannah Valley, ontop of the waterfall.

The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and the grass was greener than ever. The wind blew a cool breeze over the entire valley, and Amaterasu sighed, enjoying the peacefullness.

Being back on Earth with no sign of demon around, pleased the wolf. Last time she was here, she had to fight off a bunch of drunken demons.

Amaterasu stood, but then, a thought crossed her mind, Where is my little bouning friend, Issun? Amaterasu smiled at the thought of Issun's go-happy nature, and his enthusiastic talks.

The wolf jumped down off the waterfall, and walked to an Orgin Mirror, a device to help her teleport to deferent parts of Nippon.

She drew an 'X' on the mirror, and traveled to Wep'ker, where Oki lived.

In no time, Amaterasu was in the extreme North, and as always, it was freezing cold. The frozen landscape did seem to have a bit of happy cheer in it though, since the twin demons Lechku and Nechku were defeated.

Amaterasu walked up to Oki's house, and scratched the door with her paw, but there was no reponse. She nudged the door open to find no one home. She tilted her head in confussion, and then walked back out.

Amaterasu padded up the slope, but stopped when she saw an old time friend, Kokarhi and his dog, Ume, fishing.

"Amaterasu? Is that really you?" Ume asked, his eyes wide.

"Indeed, it is me." Amaterasu greeted him by licking his muzzle. "Last time I was here, which was five years ago, you were fishing in the same spot."

Ume nodded, then replied, "My master, Kokarhi, loves fishing here. We come here every year for a few weeks to fish." Ume looked different since last time Amaterasu visited. He now walked with a small limp, age lines creased his face, and the once golden like fur, was now gray around his lips. "That poncle friend of yours is a great missonarry, you'll be shocked at his accomplishments."

Sadness stung Amaterasu heart, as she missed having Issun with her, even if he did get annoying. "I was looking for Oki, have you seen him?"

"Yes, he's visiting with Kemu, and Samikle in the main house. You'd be wise not to walk in there quite yet, the Counsal is in session."

Amaterasu nodded, even though she was a godess, she respected the terms of the cultures here in Nippon. "I understand. What of my pint-sized friend Issun? Do you know where he is?"

Ume looked to the South, "He is most likely at The Capital, spreading the word of you."

"Thank you, Ume." Amaterasu turned to Kokarhi, who was too busy fishing to take notice to her. Amaterasu decided it was best to let the young man, not boy anymore, focus on catching something for dinner.
