Octavia struggled to wash out the dirt caked on heavily in her hair. The stench of body odor had embarrassingly overtook her. She scrubbed her body with her hands. Feeling eyes staring into her, she turned around to find Lincoln standing in front her on the shore. She lowered herself further into the water, her eyes fluttering downwards.

"It's rude to stare at people." She said playfully. Only her flushed cheeks showed her embarrassment.

"Sorry." He said, looking away.

"It's okay." She turned around, remembering her indecency. Her shoulder exposed to the chilly air, she shivered as a breeze rushed through her. Lincoln temporarily forgotten, she immersed herself in the rushing water, letting it clean her naked body. She was oblivious to Lincoln coughing and walking away from the river, instead her thoughts revolved around how cool her skin felt in the water and how softly the wind sped up the current.

Lincoln waited patiently for Octavia to finish. He knew that is was a rare moment of serenity to be able to bathe, and he didn't want to interrupt that.

She got out of the water looking refreshed. She'd washed her clothes in the river too. They

sat outside in the sun long enough to dry and they clung tightly to her skin.

"Let's go." She smiled at Lincoln.

"Go where?" He asked, his voice cracked as he spoke and he cleared it.

"Exploring." She responded, taking his hand as they walked through the forest.

It was peaceful and warm outside. If danger did lurk in the woods, Octavia was oblivious, but Lincoln was always slightly on edge.

They stopped when they came across a rusty old car, sinking into the ground. Octavia jerked the car door open. Crawling inside.

"There's something in here!" She told Lincoln, who stood a few feet away from the car. A small box caked in dust was under the passenger seat. She picked up, wiping away some of the dust with her sleeve. She'd found a diamond bracelet in the back of the car. It was worn and rather dingy, perhaps they weren't real diamonds at all. But she didn't want to think about that.

She showed her newfound treasure to Lincoln, who wasn't as interested as she'd hoped.

But he smiled politely and the two walked back to where they'd made camp by the river. They were also expecting Bellamy and Clarke to join them sometime that night, but it would likely be quite a while until they came.

The sun began setting.

Octavia pulled Lincoln closer to her and smiled up at the sky. She wouldn't forget her few moments of serenity.
