I wrote this a long time ago and meant to go back and do something else to it, but I decided to see if I even should.
So yeah...enjoy I guess.
"Well Mulder, it looks like we have a nice little vacation ahead of us, " Scully stated, her irritation bleeding through and mixing with bitter sarcasm. Creating something Mulder always dreaded dealing with : an angry partner. But worst of all, angry at him.
' There's no way I could have seen this coming Scully, you've got to believe me.' Hopefully she'd believe him…
"Bullshit." she coldly muttered. " Anyone could have seen this coming! Stalking someone without a warrant, on a hunch nonetheless! Never mind it was the sheriffs daughter. Avery deep sigh is escaping her lips now. "What the hell were you thinking anyway?"
' I wasn't stalking her Scully, lets get that straight now. I prefer pursuing…makes me seem much less like a creep…' 'Anyway, it wasn't just some hunch I had, I got a tip from a very reliable source.' Now it's a scoff coming from her direction. ' I was told, no promised , that she had information that would prove something that would for sure be on the front page of the Gunmans' paper…'
"And what was that exactly?" Mulder averts his eyes indicating she was better off not knowing…
' So how are you going to spend this break for work Scully?' He was hoping focusing on the good would calm her tone…
"Relaxing. Something that certainly doesn't come along working with you…"
' Since when was the F.B.I. supposed to be relax-filled? ' he quietly murmured.
'Well I know what I'll do; …' Silence follows.
"What Mulder? What's your big plan?"
'I haven't thought of it yet.'
Scully sighs. "Well you can tell me all about it when we come back to work, ok?" Good night Mulder"
He calls down the hallway as she clicks away :
'Hopefully you won't turn off your phone Scully, I might need to bug you for some ideas on what to do to fill my days.' He hoped she caught the hint.
"You're not going to keep working anyway?" she calls back somewhat surprised.
'Not if you're off relaxing, since when could I bother you to help me investigate instead of relaxing?'
Heels click again towards the elevator. "Good night Mulder." she stresses as the doors close.
He sighs as he looks over their office, not finding anything of particular interest to take along just in case he gets bored enough and has to work (just like Scully said) .
' I wonder how long I can make it…' he wonders out loud as he locks the door with empty arms.
