Hermione was at the bank with her parents they were withdrawing about $400 for all Hermione's school supplies they had never heard of GilderoyLockhart but thanks to him they had to buy 6 extra books than last year.
Hermione was bored even the prospect of going to Diagon Alley could not make her excited when she was in a bank. She wondered around the bank, glancing out the windows and doors in the hope of spotting Ron or Harry, it was futile and when she was done she sat on the green cushion benches.
When her parents got the money they left. They then drove to the parking lot and walked to the Leaky Cauldron, Hermione raised her wand and the barrier lowered for her parents and they saw the pub and walked in.
The Pub smelt of smoke alcohol and toads, it was cold heated only by a small fire quite a lot of people were gambling, a few were smoking and practically everyone was drinking.
They did not want to spend more time in here than absolutely necessary.
"Would you care for a drink sir?" the bar man asked.
"No thank you" Mr. Granger replied mostly because they had to shop but also because he didn't quite trust the drinks.
He almost but not quite ran out to catch up with Hermione.
"You okay dear" asked Mrs Granger.
Hermione looked up to look at her fathers' face he smiled and said. "Fine, lets go in," Hermione tapped the bricks and the arch way open.
She had come here last year with her parents and Professor Flitwick who taught them how to get past the magical barriers to Diagon Alley and platform 9 3/4.
She still found it extraordinary, it was all she could do not to run to every shop. She had self control, she wasn't totally grown up though and even her parents who were from what she could tell, adults glanced in some shops and gazed longingly at others. They were Muggles and this was only the second time they had been there to.
Hermione and her father had to drag her mother from a shop that sold charms that made Muggles think you are the most beautiful person on earth.
Their first stop was Gingotts as none of the shops accepted Muggle Money. They entered the big white marble building.
"These Goblins still make me so nervous!" whispered Mrs Granger. A Goblin came up to them, "How can I help you?"
"We want to exchange some money" as they were taken to the exchange desk and Hermione spotted Harry and Ron and ran to them.
