AN// So, one of my favorite songs is Do Wah Diddy. One of my favorite movies is L.A. Story and Star Trek. NOW PUT ALL THREE TOGETHER! OK. So quick note: i totally took the text where kirk is explaining the puzzle from the actual L.A. Story movie. Sorry. ~.~ I Fail at explaining how to rearrange it. I take no credit! The riddle is from L.A. Story (and other places im sure etc. etc. etc.) not mine!! Anyways, if you have not heard the song Do Wah Diddy, please do! x)

Disclaimer// I obviously do not own star trek, nor do i own L.A. Story. xD This isn't a cross over! Just a refrence!

Warning// Jim totally pwns in this. Spock... not so much. x) But in a good way!

Do Wah Diddy

Everyone tried to stump Spock. It never worked though.

Everything was tried.

Riddles, brain teasers, tongue twisters, everything! It only took Spock seconds (if that) to answer whatever someone had thrown at him. No one could stump Spock. At least, that is, until James T. Kirk stepped up to the challenge.

"I have one Spock." Jim said with a sly smile. Everyone looked up to Jim, a few rolled their eyes; figuring his would probably be the easiest Spock had run across so far. Spock looked up, and arched an eyebrow.

"You do?" He said lightly, Jim nodded his smile growing a bit. "I would like to hear it then."

Jim shifted a bit then spoke:

"You will know what to do, when you unscramble, how daddy is doing."

That was it. Everyone stared; pretty sure Jim had officially lost his mind. Then all eyes turned to Spock, ready for an answer.

No answer came. Spock watched Jim for a long moment before speaking. "I think I may actually have to work on this one."

"Take your time Spock." Jim said, with that he stood, leaving the mess hall to go finish some work.

The mysterious riddle practically haunted Spock. Jim didn't pressure him into answering or anything. This was good. Spock spent a lot of his free time pouring over the riddle.

Jim looked to Spock; they were on the bridge on their way to their next mission. "Spock, how is it going on that riddle of mine?" He asked with a quirked eyebrow.

Spock glanced over. "Your riddle has been a challenge, however I believe I will find the answer soon enough." He said confidently.

A week and a half passed. Spock had no idea what the answer was. It was on the bridge, when Jim asked a second time that Spock admitted: "I admit, I cannot find an answer to this riddle of yours." Everyone stared in disbelief. Mouths gaping open, a few little gasps (the loudest from Uhura).

"Would you like the answer?" Jim asked with a little smile. Spock suppressed a sigh, then nodded curtly.

"That would be reasonable." Spock said. Jim pulled out his PADD. On it, he managed to connect to the large computer screen off to the side. Everyone stared.

He wrote the original riddle onto the PADD and it showed up on the screen. Spock looked to it. The puzzle he had been pouring over for nearly two weeks.

"You will know what to do

When you unscramble

How daddy is doing"

Jim glanced to Spock who had his full attention; Jim smiled and looked to the PADD. He made the last sentence larger, and he started to work.

"See, unscramble means rearrange. Change the "s" with the "h," move the "ing" after the "s," put the "do" after them. Swap the "h" and the "s." And put the "i" behind the "d."" Kirk switched the letters as he spoke.

Spock's eyes widened slightly as he stared at what was before him on the screen:
