"Zuko, we really," lips closed over hers, "shouldn't," her tongue sucked between his teeth, oh spirits!"
"Really? You want me to," his good eye lifted up as if questioning her sanity at this brief moment, his hips rocked forward rubbing his need against her thigh, "stop?". His eyes glowed like embers in the darkness of the little room, his want radiating, her need absorbing. It had been too long. Too many lonely nights apart from their partners. The partners who were supposed to love and cherish them, instead were gone more than home leaving a cold bed to weep alone in. Misery loved company and Zuko and Katara were perfect partners in that respect.
It was a flurry of ties and binds, rips and tears, pressing and rocking, panting and moaning, sighing and smiling, sneaking and acting as if what they had just done never happened. Until several hours later that was.
She had gone home, thanking Zuko for his royal hospitality. They both knew she would be back sooner rather than later. Within two months, it was Zuko who visited her and small spaces were again pressed against as the two joined. After several political meetings and such, Zuko thanked Katara for her royal hospitality. They both knew he would be back.
Within two months, Katara knew. "Are you certain?" Zuko whispered. He should have felt something but truthfully he didn't. He had three already with Mai. This… was an accident. Not unheard of for a man of his position. Katara concurred. Her eldest son, now 10, was away in the Air Temples with his father, gone from her during the cold winter months. She should have felt that same passion she had for that life as for this new life but truthfully she didn't. She cared for Zuko but she did not love him.
"I know someone, here," Katara began. A lovely couple, in want of a child of their own. Zuko nodded. The winter came and went, the secret child born at spring's first dawn. Placed in a wanting mother's arms amid kisses and thank you's, their adopted blessing held tight and taken to her new home to grow in peace and to marry her love. That little girl, half fire, half water, now a grown woman on a splendid winter morning, amid word that Avatar Aang had passed, the new Avatar was born to her.
"Korra," the daughter called her. The unknown granddaughter to a Fire Lord and Master Waterbender, now the new Avatar for the world.

A quick and short drabble. The title of that episode made me write this. :)
