Arthur stared at his manservant, mouth gaping and eyes wide and Merlin stared back with frightened eyes. The Queen and the knights were stood around them with equally shocked faces to that of their King. "Merlin you're... You..." he stammered, failing to express what he meant with words. His manservant was undoubtably the person in front of him however with the slight difference of being female. He walked cautiously towards her and she stepped back quickly, tripping in the process. "Merlin? If that is your name?" he asked sternly. She shook her head and mumbled something they couldn't make out. Gwaine stepped forwards carefully and crouched beside her. "It's okay, you know us. You can trust us. So what's your real name?" he asked and smiled warmly when she looked up at him. "Meredith Icelion." she muttered and the look on Arthur and Leon's face was replaced by a look of pure hatred and Meredith flinched back. Gwaine turned to see what had scared her so and saw the looks on their faces. Percival who was just as clueless shrugged and Elyan looked thoughtful as he had spent most of his younger years in Camelot and thought the name was familiar however Gwen had gasped and covered her mouth with her hands. "My God." she whispered and ran over and hugged her friend tightly who broke down in her arms. Gwaine, Percival and Elyan stared in confusion at the two girls and Arthur sighed realising the responsibility fell to him to explain.

"Well its like this. There was a noble family called the Icelions, now Lady Rochelle and Lord Jarvis had a child, a beautiful daughter whom they named Meredith. They both died in a tragic accident when their daughter was thirteen. Lady Rochelle's brother then gained care of the child and he was by no means a kind or caring noble and had his niece married off to Lord Andreas Guilfords who is a cruel man by even my fathers opinions however he is very intelligent and influential so he had to stay. Anyway so they married and-"

"STOP!" he was cut off by Merediths yell as she covered her ears tightly. "Arthur we all heard the rumours. Don't make her relive that." Gwen told her husband as she pulled the crying girl closer into her grasp. The knights and their King glanced at each other worried, those who knew the rumours cringing at the though of their dear friend going through that ordeal and those who hadn't wondering what could be so horrific to make the King, Leon and Gwen pale so that they looked like they would vomit and make Arthur and Leon also look so murderous.
