Seamus gave a great roar of delight and ran to hug his best friend. The two broke apart quickly, not wanting to not seem masculine in front of the others. Seamus gave a quick look around and grabbed Dean by the wrist, dragging him into the Boys Washroom nearby. Once inside, they each sat down on the row of sinks in the room. For some reason, they could not look at each other, but reveled in restored the presence of their best friend. Seamus was the first to speak.
"You stopped sending messages."
"Yeah."
"Months ago."
"I know."
"Wasn't there another way?"
"Sorry, mate. I had to get rid of my coin…the Snatchers thought there was something funny about it. Luna had hers…but we couldn't exactly be sending too many back and forth."
Seamus frowned.
"You could have just sent one."
"Seamus…"
"One short little letter."
"What good would it have done?"
"I thought you were dead."
"Figured you might."
"I thought you were bloody dead, Dean!" Seamus was suddenly glad for the sound proof walls that the Room of Requirement was now built out of. "I didn't know what happened to you!"
Dean hung his head, the shame of his actions catching up with him.
"I'm sorry."
"You don't need to say that," Seamus told him, now apologetic.
"Yeah, I do, actually. You're right. It was dumb of me."
They both remained silent for a moment, until Seamus finally hopped off of the sinks. He made his way to the door.
"We'd better get back out there." Dean began to follow him, and then stopped.
"Seamus?"
"Aye?"
"Did you…y'know…really think I was dead?" Seamus did not turn around.
"Aye…" he began, his voice shaky. Dean approached him and put a hand on his shoulder. His voice also began to shake.
"I was so worried about you, Sea…I thought they might hurt you. Y'know, 'cause your not pureblooded. To tell the truth…you look like hell, mate."
"Right sight better than you usually look, though, isn't it," Seamus said with a laugh and finally turned around to face Dean. Dean grinned and the two hugged again, taking their time now that they were alone.
"Now we should be getting back," Dean decided, and the two boys walked back into the crowded room.
